It’s in no way a “must win”.
They can lose this because they beat OSU and still have another mulligan later in the year and be in the CFP.
This isn’t the BCS era, lose two or less, make the CFP and see what happens from there.

As a TX fan, I can tell you that this will be a tough game to win. Until I see Arch come out and play a complete game on the road, I will expect to see a meltdown at some point Saturday. We are who we are.

It is definitely a must win for Texas. If UT loses everyone will just say they were supposed to lose. All UT has to do is play well and keep it close. But Texas has to have the win or the wheels will come off the bus really quickly.

And why isn't Tennessee feeling it? Heupel is seldom discussed as approaching a must-win. This is a huge moment for the Vols football program. They have a #1 team, not named BAMA, coming into their place. Heuple made one playoff appearance and flamed out badly. If Heupel ever makes the Vols a national threat, the time is right now.

Tennessee seems to save it for BAMA. I thought we were at this pivotal moment last season vs. Oklahoma, and they weren't ready for primetime. Maybe Tennessee has run in the wilderness for so long that 8-4 is about right.

I’m curious to see how both offenses perform. Sark and Knowles have a long history against each other, and historically Knowles had gotten the better of him (granted a lot of that was early in his time at Texas). Arch’s strong point is the deep ball which Knowles takes away with the 3 high look. Arch’s is inconsistent in the short to medium range which is where he’ll have to perform this weekend.
On the flip side, Muschamp is probably gonna stack the box and make that true freshman QB beat Texas’ defense. I expect he’s going to send a ton of pressure force him to think and react quickly. Texas has the athletic edge on the outside.
It’ll be interesting to see which defense comes out on top.

With Texas's schedule coming up they have to get this one.

They have to go 4-2 in those 6 games. Depending on how they play, maybe 3-3 with close losses. They just cant have a Florida game from last year.

Also can't have a Georgia game... a blowout. I can't help but think that the Horns' playoff case would have been better had they sent the dawgs to OT or something like that.
