The one thing that nobody in this thread has mentioned is the loss of A&M's OC. Do the A&M's fans think that this isn't going to have an impact on your team?

Lol. This game will be tough and I have no reason to believe it won't be close. I love how A&M fans (some, not all) think that our defense had nothing to do with your turnovers. "No man, he was just a freshman... you guys didn't force turnovers..." Our Freshman's put mad pressure on your QB and he was running for his life and throwing across his body into our DB's hands. Also running for his life dropping the ball on the ground. I hope he doesn't do that again, otherwise you won't make it out of Oxford with a win.

I absolutely believe the loss of our OC won't affect anything. You must have missed the OU game if you think there will be a drop off.

Sumlin has always hired great assistant coaches and we have no reason to believe they won't be as capable as Kliff.

Because it's been discussed a thousand times. Here's the stock answer: How'd the Cotton Bowl go?

Yall played against an SEC defense in the Cotton Bowl ? And aTm lost their starting Center too.. But it doesn't matter.. Sumlin will just throw some kid in there who will be fully capable of making all the blocking calls while going head to head with SEC Nose guards.

I'll call it now.. Bookmark the damn thread.. Isaac Gross and LaVon Hooks will own the interior of your Oline in Oxford.

Let's look at the 6 turnovers.

4 fumbles, of which only 2 were forced.

2 interceptions

Ole Miss scored 17 points off of SIX turnoves.

By "some kid" you mean the son of NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews, and the younger brother of the Titans starting center and the Aggies' starting LT right?

Last time we started a 2nd year player at Center (RSFR or SO), we won our conference.

How do you win your bowl and yet "lose to every bowl eligible team they played?"

Why did your team turn the ball over so much? Did they not like having possession? You know you're not suppose to give the other team the ball right? Just thought you should know it's very important to hang onto the ball. I thought a Heisman QB would know this. It's hard to win games when you don't have the ball to score touchdowns. In order for a touchdown ball has to cross the plane into the ENDZONE. You know the area at the end of each field? It's very important.

Let's go through the turnovers again one by one so that the Reblackbears can understand:

1 - (1st and 10) C. Michael rush for no gain to the TAMU41, fumble forced by Cody Prewitt, fumble by C. Michael recovered by UM Cameron Whigham at TAMU45.

Ole Miss can take credit for that turnover, as Christine Michael was fumble-prone throughout most of his career and the defender took advantage of it.

2-(3rd and 9) Johnny Manziel pass intercepted by D. Collins at the UM22, D. Collins return -3 yards to the UM19.

The safety was in the right place and took advantage of a bad throw by a freshman QB into double coverage.

3-(2nd and 10) Johnny Manziel pass complete to Ryan Swope for 34 yards to the UM18, fumble forced by Cody Prewitt, fumble by Ryan Swope recovered by UM Trae Elston at UM14.

Wasn't this the play when Swope got smashed helmet to helmet with no call?

4-(3rd and 0) Johnny Manziel sacked for loss of 13 yards to the UM21 (Mike Hilton), fumble by Johnny Manziel recovered by UM Joel Kight at UM21.

Had Manziel thrown the ball away instead of trying to do too much, we have a very makeable FG attempt...even for Bertolet.

5-(4th and 2) Jim Broadway punt 52 yards to the TAMU8, Dustin Harris return 0 yards to the TAMU8, fumble by Dustin Harris recovered by UM Cody Prewitt at TAMU5.

Another Dustin Harris special. He had 3 times as many fumbled punts (9) throughout his career as he did punt return touchdowns (3). Ole Miss player never touched him. Why he tried to field it from inside the 10, I'll never know.

6-(3rd and 20) Johnny Manziel pass intercepted by Cody Prewitt at the UM20, Cody Prewitt return 7 yards to the UM27, QB hurry by Issac Gross.

Again, desperation play by Manziel. Head's-up play by Prewitt.

OU gave up 12 more YPG and 2 FEWER PPG than Ole Miss last year despite playing in the pass happy Big XII. Also forced more turnovers.

Our new center is the son of Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews, brother of All-American Jake Matthews, cousin of NFL All-Pro Clay Matthews and was the #1 center in the country out of high school. I suspect he's pretty good at football.

Last year's game was the result of OM overachieving and taking advantage of A&M's first ever SEC road game, and A&M proved they could overcome a 6 turnover performance and STILL win....both teams got better as the year went on, but A&M just has more talent and will win again this year.

Last time we had a 2nd year player start at Center (SO or RS-FR), we won our conference...Seth McKinney was a RS Freshman in 1998 on a line that started 2 juniors (Semisi Heimuli, Moses Valakhili) and 2 seniors (Rex Tucker, Chris Valletta).

Mike Matthews (SO) will be on a line that starts 1 senior and 3 juniors (assuming Compton starts at RG).

Also, one key factor that Ole Miss doesn't want to hear or see:

October 5th:

Ole Miss at Auburn

Texas A&M BYE WEEK

7 of your own points came before halftime on a fluke interception.

See how easy it is? I expect another close game. Such is life in the SEC

To be fair, Auburn is basically a bye week these days.

Last year showed us there are two kinds of teams: Those with the defensive speed to contain Manziel's scrambling and those without it. Those without it lost, and usually big. I dont believe Ole Miss has LSU defensive speed this year.

Actually, Ole Miss has pretty good defensive speed. Denzel Nkemdiche is fast, which made him a pretty good Manziel spy last year, and I bet he'll do a good job this year. Our offense should be better, too. This could be a competitive game again.
