Eli Drinkwitz Provides New Update On Missouri RB Ahmad Hardy At SEC Media Days

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz shared a positive update on star running back Ahmad Hardy during SEC Media Days on Monday, saying the All-American continues to make encouraging progress in his recovery after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg in May.
"He's doing really well," Drinkwitz said. "He's ahead of where we thought he'd be."
The Tigers coach added that Hardy is "attacking rehab the right way" but emphasized the program will continue to follow the advice of its medical staff before rushing him back onto the field.
Drinkwitz didn't provide a timetable for Hardy's return but said Missouri remains optimistic he'll be available at some point during the 2026 season.
Hardy rushed for 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, earning consensus All-American honors while establishing himself as one of the nation's top running backs.
"He's doing really well," Drinkwitz said. "He's ahead of where we thought he'd be."
