See how easy it is? I expect another close game. Such is life in the SEC

Meh, half of our SEC games last year were over by halftime. I expect a close game, but it wouldnt shock me to win comfortably. That's the advantage of running our style of offense as well as we do, 2-3 scoreless possessions and we can put the game out of reach fairly quickly.

Actually, Ole Miss has pretty good defensive speed.

Pretty good won't cut it. OU and Bama have "pretty good" defensive speed. There's 2-3 teams in the country with the speed in the front seven necessary to contain Manziel.

Denzel Nkemdiche is fast, which made him a pretty good Manziel spy last year, and I bet he'll do a good job this year.

Manziel rushed for 129 yards against Ole Miss last year (160 before taking out losses due to sacks and negative QB runs). I hope Nkemdiche does just as "goo" of a job this year.

Both teams will be better and it should be a great game.

Exactly. If both teams stay healthy again I expect a hell of a game.

I specifically said you would be better earlier in the thread. I also believe that anytime you lose at home despite winning the TO battle 6-2 it isnt cause for much optimism.

You know how many times in SEC history a team has won despite losing the TO battle by four or more? Five times. Five times in 80 years. The number of time a team has won with six or more turnovers? Twice. It's almost impossible.

You want to talk about BRUTAL efficiency in terms of points off of turnovers?

at SMU: 1 INT led to 7 points

vs. South Carolina State: INT returned for TD

vs. Arkansas: 2 INT led to 10 points, fumble returned for TD

at Ole Miss: 1 INT returned for TD, 1 INT ended the game.

at Mississippi State: 1 INT led to 7 points

at Alabama: 1 INT led to 7 points, 1 fumble recovery led to 7 points, 1 INT ended the game

vs. Sam Houston State: 1 INT led to 7 points, 1 fumble recovery led to 7 points.

vs. Missouri: 1 fumble recovery led to 7 points, 1 INT ended the final drive.

vs. Oklahoma: 1 INT led to 7 points.

16 turnovers forced led directly to 87 points (12 touchdowns, 1 FG) and ended two close games (Ole Miss, Alabama)

A&M learned how to run the ball after the OM game - made all the difference in the world. If KK could be faulted for anything it was that he simply refused to run the ball at times - one of those being the OM game.

McKinney (the RB coach) ran the ball at WILL in the Cotton Bowl. OM may get some better DE's, but the middle of the defense is still soft as Charmin, and JFF, the OL, and a few 5* RB's will do just fine against the OM defense.

Seriously... you act like OM is suddenly as deep as LSU on defense or something. Or Alabama.

As for the OL, we will have two Matthews on the OL, and neither is new to the offense. Matthews Jr was the backup center last year, because we knew he would be playing this year. So we have to replace a LT by sliding the AA RT over to his position, and moving one of the G out to tackle. BTW, Cedric O. was originally recruited to play LT, but we needed to get him on the field at guard in past years to maximize talent. Our OL won't have much of a drop off at all, much to the disappointment of the SEC.

We will win this game by more than 14 points, as the team will actually be focused this year. Sorry Rebs

Clarence McKinney is no longer just the RB coach. He's now the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR and RB coach.

I know... I'm saying that A&M will be running the ball a lot more next year under McKinney. We will still fling it all over the place, but I thought the Cotton Bowl was the best called game all year.

KK did NOT like to run the ball. And straight up the middle is what you have to do against OM, because the DE's are fast. The middle of the defense is pretty soft, though.

I don't think JFF will be running as much either next year. He'll do more moving around the pocket to make throws as needed. But he'll still get his breakouts of course when the defensive play call is right for it.

To me the most impressive thing about the Cotton Bowl win for A&M was not their offensive production. Keep in mind that OU in the last half of the season gave up 700 yards & a ton of points to Wva and a shitload of yards & points to OSU.

The most impressive part of the game was OU being shutout in the 2nd half. I don't know who the Aggies have coming back on defense, but they rendered OU powerless the last 30 minutes.

Read all these wishfull posts on predicting the outcome of this game. Funny how every team spouts improvement over containing JFF but no reference to JFF improving whatsoever. Note: His speed has improved. And he's better. The OL is in tact and loaded. And the WR talent? Who's better? Our backfield is sick. D line and LB is the only question. So The only way you win is you outscore us. Good luck.
