I believe it’s called the self delusion of unwarranted ego.

F is a great school.
But I'd like to know how they went from #50 in 2017 to #29 in 2023
Probably something liberal that included words like diversity and equity. They can take all the rankings and shove them up their proverbial asses for all I care.

You’re behind Florida and Vandy for sure.
Says who? USNews?
USNews Global University Ranking:
Texas #43
Vanderbilt #78
Florida #98
Texas A&M #148
All are great schools. USNews does "National University" rankings for marketing but also does a "Global University" rankings.
And the reason is that the national rankings methodology uses measures like graduate indebtedness, class size, and other soft measures while the global rankings methodology are based on publications, peer academic reputation, citations, i.e. real world impact.

You think you have the same admission rate and standards as Vanderbilt? You’re a diploma mill compared to them
Posted on 6/3/23 at 10:37 am to JayAg
Texas and Texas A&M are both diploma mills.
That’s why this LSU website is flooded with Blinn and UTSA alum

All that PUF money

Still does not have a winning position in
Football
Men's basketball
Baseball
Against Vanderbilt!

I'm happy to concede that Vanderbilt, a private school, has a lower acceptance rate and higher admissions standards than Texas, a public school serving a huge state.
That said... Vanderbilt's acceptance rate is 7.1%.
Texas's published acceptance rate is around 30%. For students that are not automatic admits, i.e. not top 6% of their class, Texas's acceptance rate is 9.5%.
But again, both are great schools that have different missions

There are smart kids all over the state of Texas. Doesn’t matter what town you live in. As an example- one of the smartest kids I’ve ever met grew up in a trailer park living in a glorified camper. Not even a real mobile home. Both of the kids parents were illegal immigrants who barely spoke English.

Gifts in people have never been given discriminately. Just the opportunities.
