Read an article on origin of the yell leaders.. in short long long time ago when it was a men’s college the team always lost.. ( I know some things never change)….the girls from the women’s college would start leaving games early.. so guys figured they would put on some entertainment to keep them at games longer.. they broke into the janitorial area of campus and stole some uniforms and put on skits… ( yes they are stolen janitor uniforms not milkmen uniforms)…they started putting on the skits at a specific place and on the steps to the building.. one of the yell leaders feet were very long and he had to walk sideways and funny to stay on the steps..
Fwiw the 13 man is not accurate either and was a player that was on the team but had already started playing another sport for them.. they had injuries so he came out of the bleachers and told the coach he could go in if required.. he was not required..

One of my kids goes to A&M. They do have some weird traditions, but they have some pretty cool ones too. I disagree about them being the worst fanbase. Those people love their school and support it like no other fans I know of. Look at how long its been since they won a national championship and yet there they are filling that enormous stadium up every single home game. No way that would happen at a majority of schools across the country.

This is old news. Yes, it’s cringy for those of us who aren’t Aggies, but the Ags don’t give a shite what we think. It’s decades of tradition that will never change.

There’s plenty of dumb traditions out there, but I don’t care or have the deep insecurities to call everything weird or things I don’t like “gay” because it’s not my school.
