Katrina caused a lot of damage. Nola people needed inexpensive “short term” housing ..similar damage happened in Houston.. city eventually target the areas with significant police presence and chased them back to Nola.
You will not see at an event dominated by an older fan base and spirited students wearing a popcorn bucket on their head.. go to a student event like fall fest on the parade grounds.. or other similar non academic activities.
“Go to the parades grounds on game day”

I am pretty sure I spend a lot more time on campus than you do and have over a longer multi decade time frame..

Yes the campus is beautiful.. many old beautiful buildings and many new beautiful ones..

People are being cautious in their wording but yes the discussion is about the population..

Using the parade grounds on game day is an odd choice.. we know what is there on that day and in general it does not reflect the overall demographics of the university ..

There is no doubt the students population “personality” has changed in recent years..

The university changed something. Lots of op stated the obvious.. it is fixable ..

Someone started last night at 12 exactly.. they set off two very loud pops.. they echoed.. they waited three minutes. Set off one single very very loud one.. they repeated this on a timed event for over twenty minutes..

They were off in a distance.. best guess is they were just trying to po people with kids.. mine are grown so no big deal but what a jerk..
Should be back on track .. I thought this guy was on the short list?

Another thing on campus. If the clock tower museum is open go in.. lots of historic items and information of alumni from the different wars and history of lsu and military stuff. I just saw you are staying at lod cook. You really can just do all the things I mention by walking from there. I walk by most of those places and lod cook in the mornings on a daily walk.

Elsie’s is great but easier to get in if you go around 2 after lunch crowd.. get a slice of eye of the tiger pie.. but to be honest.. just spend the day wandering campus from your hotel room.. walk down the street from lod to see sorority houses and venture onto campus from there.

If possible park at mikes cage … if not able to you can park across the street by the grocery store..

From there start by looking at mikes habitat.. go up the hill. ( Indian mounds will be on left and obvious). . and walk right into the quad.. on dude of quad in foster building is in a natural museum.. some taxidermy stuff from Louisiana.. and old Mike :(… on side if that is the old library ( historic) in Exxon square ..some interesting maps in it.. second floor feels like a Harry Potter movie.. wander over to the new ( new to me).. geology building.. nice minerals.. and dinosaur skeleton.. in the area look for the lsu dairy store get a malt.. lots of good options to eat and snack in the student union.. wander back toward your car and walk around the stadium.. will be some statues.. over by the grocery store more food options.. torchy tacos is good.. get queso.. if out and about off campus a nice nature walking park on bluebonnet (google it)… just off campus a children’s museum.. just off campus at highland/chimes.. eat at Chimes for sit down….. other shops restaurants in area.the first canes restaurant is at highland and state
.. . go to jerimiah and get a gelati.

You can wander the campus for the day looking at interesting things and stopping for snacks and food

You will see the Indian mounds older than the pyramids….
Recently got suv for road trips
Recently got a sedan for around town.

Will Stay in that pattern.
“The bird sanctuary looks”

Like garbage. They pretty much doubled the size by piling mud all around it.. it extends almost to the teke house now.. looking from lakeshore they turned lakeview houses into swampland view houses.. from the teke side the lakeview now looks like a canal .. they are also piling up mud on existing banks to increase rec area.. but basically reducing footprint of lakes.. ran a small dozer on campus lakes and called it done..
what a disaster.. fwiw there was a time the lakes were pretty much dry and only a few ankle deep pods of water. I could not understand why they did not just get a fleet of bobcats and trim it out..

May end up right but my goodness what a cluster so far.
Curious to others opinions..
Do you think he was around the age of Mary or more middle age…. ?
And why….
Fwiw… the milkman uniform was actually janitor uniform they stole and used .
Wbb has pretty much been packed every game .. fans on their feet constantly.. fast break club ( wbb booster ) has around 500 members.. every meet and greet with team packed.

Team/coach meet and greet lunches at the hotel packed.. usually sold out.. auctions always do well..a few mega boosters always there if coaches need something ( you have heard their names).. they have a pretty solid following..

Women’s gymnastics sold out at every meet.. women’s indoor volleyball has a decent showing.. bottom sections have fans in audience.. beach volleyball draws fans.. fun to chill and listen to music and watch.. women’s softball has a following.. other women’s teams get about the same draw as the men’s..

Lady tigers get support…. But nationally.. yeah not as much

Fwiw you can buy a 1 ct diamond from 1800-3200 dollars on large wholesale websites.. depends on quality … you can also shop around at wholesale diamond jewelry shops ( Houston has a building full of them) and do significantly better than large chain retail… . in the past before internet shops and large wholesale diamond jewelry options for individuals there certainly was a heavy marketing and supply chain management conspiracy.

“Never understood why colored stones like emeralds and sapphires arent more popular”

They are attractive.. i like almost any mineral.. fossil or cool rock..I think prettier than diamonds also.. of course you can buy lab grown.. emeralds.. ruby.. sapphire… etc at a significantly lower price than naturally formed ones also. Heck you can by synthetic fossils also.. and yup they cost a lot less than naturally occurring one also..

since a lab diamond is the same as the natural formed a diamond when someone compliments you on your diamond ring you say … isn’t it a beautiful one.. this one came from the Xy diamond labs company .. they are the best at growing synthetic diamonds.

Hope things improve.. others commenting on why he is there with his money.. could not he get special treatment etc..

my questions also.. I imagine he is super rich??.. has money to spend on stuff.. I had a friend die from cancer.. he had money and went to Europe seeking additional “ techniques”

It is not like he did not get special treatment the rest of us would not..

“, in late 2025, Donald Trump responded to cartoonist Scott Adams' public plea for help with scheduling his FDA-approved cancer drug (Pluvicto), and though Trump didn't personally administer treatment, his intervention, alongside Health Secretary RFK Jr., prompted Kaiser Permanente to expedite Adams' IV scheduling, allowing Adams to begin his fight against advanced prostate cancer. ”

The new definition reads, “A diamond is a mineral consisting essentially of pure carbon crystallized in the isometric system.”

FTC needs to talk to a geology professor.. if they meant to remove naturally occurring the need to remove mineral also..
I know a person that had one in a rental he was staying at.. in a big city and was a small one.. his comments were it appeared to take a long time to dry stuff cause there was moisture in the appliance after the wash cycle.. that was a while back… probably better tech now.. and bigger units have less problems.. he felt it left a smell on his clothes also..?????

Yes I do.. they say mineral …

Again here is the definition of a mineral.. been the same in every geology class book I took/read…

Mineral is defined as an inorganic, naturally occurring, homogenous solid, with a definite chemical composition, and ordered (crystalline) atomic structures

It states naturally occurring.. argue value of natural versus synthetic all you want but lab grown is not naturally occurring thus not within the definition you reference.
