Well it says CWS semis anyway so top 2 in a poll wouldn't work for that metric. This has been tested before many times it looks like.

I couldn’t care less whether another team wins or loses (though I was tickled to see LSU best Clemson this year).

Eta: I lied. I always enjoy seeing UTex lose. I’m not proud of it, but that’s the truth.

Dude, it's not "arbitrary", it was done to exclude A&M.
That doesn't invalidate the analysis, it's still true, A&M hasn't finished top 4 of anything since the War.
