Tuesday morning’s heat index was around 100 degrees.
A football spokesperson confirmed via a statement the individual was a player and that he was treated for a heat-related medical emergency. The spokesperson did not confirm the identity of the player.
“There was a heat-related medical emergency at practice yesterday,” the statement read. “Thanks to the quick response of our incredible medical staff, we were able to act swiftly and provide the student-athlete with the care he needed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and has since been released. He is now back with the program and will be available this weekend.”
Luckily, the staff acted swiftly and he was stable when taken. Sounds like the team was practicing outside.
Going to be a hot day on Saturday vs Kentucky. Hopefully no more incidents.

Great news that he is doing well. Heat stress can get very serious, very quickly.

All BS aside that shite is scary. Even if you think you’re acclimated, it can hit you before you know what’s happening.
Scary shite to be sure. Hope he’s ok.

Some older men in town have been getting hospitalized after yard work in the heat.

The problem with heat stroke is, once you’re struck down, you are more susceptible to it afterwards. I hope your son is ok.

I keep a cooler of water on my service truck this time of year well stocked with five or six frozen solid ice packs stuffed in there, both for myself and to hand to bums.
Yeah that shite can happen fast and you gotta remind yourself to drink to stay ahead of it.

Normally I shite post on this particular LSU site, but I can relate to everything you posted. Moreso for the gents doing yard work.
Hope they all get to feeling better.
