Great series so far. Fitting conclusion for this CWS to go to a game 3 in the finals.

Now that Saban is gone, it won’t take long before you’re asking the same thing about football season.

For sure. The two best teams going to a final and deciding game.

Just tuned in. Did A&M have to use Ash today?

How many pitches can he throw tomorrow?
No Aschenbeck today. I think if A&M had been up more than one run, we might have seen him in the 7th. Given it's the last game, he's probably got 60-75 pitches in him, but he may not be as effective on one days' rest. Stewart is probably available for an inning or two. Hell, we might even throw Prager for an inning if it comes down to it. But, it won't matter if we don't do better at the plate tomorrow. Beam and Combs did a job today.

He was up warming up to come into the game. Not sure how much stress or strain that is, but is it still even a days rest

Perhaps this is covered in the thread but I have a question about something...

I think it was the 2nd inning, maybe the 3rd, when UT had runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs. Batter hits it to short and he had a short throw so didn't get the runner out at 1st.

Now my question...why wouldn't the runner on 2nd be running hard to make the turn at 3rd to potentially make home?

I know this is stating the obvious, but it will come down to which team has the better pitching, particularly the bullpen. Both teams have a plethora of outstanding hitters, so pitching will decide it. Regardless, this CWS has been of the most exciting with two phenomenal teams.

Agreed Mr. Sausage. Hell of a team y’all got - think whichever team wins tomorrow will be a worthy champion.

I thought the exact same thing. When the ball got away from the first baseman, I expected a camera cut to the runner scampering home. When they showed the replay, you could see the runner pulling up as he reached third and not rounding it harder. There was no reason to with 2 outs. Either the side will be retired at first or you have a “trouble” throw that a hustling runner should be able to score on.

Do not like either school - If I had to choose who would lose it would be Aggies - they are closer home and would be a more constant reminder of bad news.

Exactly. Was expecting the same camera cutaway to home. I'm sure we'll never get an answer but the runner and 3rd base coach missed an opp there.

Not sure why my question got down voted, but just wondering, as not sure if there was some strategic change since I was taught to go hard with 2 outs.

Schloss said Aggies will start Lampkin (LHP) and that Stewart and Aschenbeck “had a day” from pitching on Saturday so those two could close it out. Basically the same pitchers that got 27 outs and shut down Florida on Wednesday. Lampkin used to be their Sunday starter before Sdao stole the job from him. But Sdao is out with an elbow injury so it’s back to Lampkin.

Tennessee will start Seachrist.

I am sure both coaches will throw the kitchen sink at it so maybe only Cortez and Wilson for the Aggies and Combs for the Vols are a definite no, everyone else could pitch.

All hands on deck boys. CWS series is living up to the expectations. Great games so far and we get to enjoy one more.

Good luck! Both teams deserve the trophy tbh.

We are all Aggies today, these poor bastards haven't won anything except T&F in decades.. despite spending obscene amounts of money. I feel for them.

A&M literally won a national title in women's tennis less than a month ago.

I covered this back on page 4

The Vols should have scored a run on that play last night but the 2 HRs made it where it wasn't such a glaring mistake. If the Aggies win 1-0 you better believe it would've been the talk of the sports message boards this morning. Postseason baseball games are decided by who plays solid and doesn't shoot themselves in the foot on the base paths or give their opponents extra outs by not completing their defensive chances.

Sucks because you have the two best baseball teams both playing at their best right now. There will be a lot of pressure on all tonight and one of these infields will probably play tight and kick the ball around unfortunately. I'll stick with my original pick of aTm in 3 and the Aggies have to feel confident with Lamkin on the bump. Hopefully I'm wrong and there's no baserunning mistakes or errors in the field down the stretch and these two teams play their best brand of ball.

Is it no longer college football offseason starting tomorrow ?
