There have been only 14 seasons in which both schools finished ranked in the AP poll. Both schools have NEVER finished the season in the top 10 at the same time.

I guess that makes the Egg Bowl not a great rivalry either? The best part of these type of games is that it doesn’t matter how good or bad the teams are. The hatred between the two schools makes a fun atmosphere that is great to take in as a casual third party fan.

Our SEC HQ decides , outside of the top 4, what SEC team goes to which bowl after the other teams have been selected to give us the best chance of winning. They’ve been protecting aggy from playing Texas in order to not embarrass the SEC. Thats why they played NC in the Orange Bowl. It’s in the best interest of the rest of the conference.
