Aggies have had their asses handed to them in the rivalry, and the SEC membership allows them to have a safe place. They could go 0-8 in conference play and wouldn’t care because they don’t have to play Texas.

Bit of an overreaction. While we don't grovel over the discontinuation of the rivalry between your schools, the point being made is it's a classic Southwestern matchup that was a part of what made college football so popular in the late 20th century.
I like in-state rivalries. Teams should battle for who's best in their state. It would be boring without the Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl, Sunshine Showdown, Clemson/SC, Stanford/USC, Iowa/Iowa State... you get the picture. Teams play very hard against their in-state rival. It makes for historically interesting football.

call it what you want. its objectively hilarious how it only took 5 years for texas to go "we will never schedule A&M in any athletic event ever again" to "holy shite, we really need to get A&M on the schedule" and theyve sky screamed for 5 years over it and we just shut them down at every turn
