Why do Texas and OU fans keep saying how awesome the OTHER team is, how great the other played last Saturday, how great the OTHER teams players look?

sometimes opposing fanbases respect each other. it's like when LSU beat Bama last year and their fanbase was falling over themselves happy for us

I don’t like OU.. in fact, I hate them.. but I call a spade a spade. It doesn’t mean i’m right, but I’m happy to give my opinion.. just like I am right now.
OU is a hell of a lot better than I thought they would be.. and they beat a damn good team.
Likewise, A&M has the pieces right now to do some serious damage, but they don’t play as a team. Maybe it is a bunch of self entitled NIL cocksuckers, or maybe their coach is just past his prime, or something else.. but they have a bunch of “dudes”.
Milroe has some limitations right now, but he has a shite ton of potential. Alabama could win the NC if they can figure out a way to prevent the turnovers and maximize Milroe’s strength’s.
USC is not a good football team despite Caleb Williams being the best player in the country.. but that pig is covered in lipstick. I wish Sark would figure out the details of wining like LR has.. He has a 72-13 head coaching record. Kirby is 87-15.. not all that different with a lot less talent.
So yeah.. I give my opinion.. right or wrong.

They are like that...both fan bases. They aren't southerners who hold genuine hate for anyone who is not a member of their tribe. They are descendants of Germans and Native Americans where Southerners are, with the exception fo coon asses, Scots Irish and its in our DNA to hate authority, hate anything which is not one of us and hold a grudge forever. That is why family reunions in Alabama in June are liable to wind up in a shooting over the iron bowl last year or next year and the week after the RRSO OU and UT fans act like family....

This may well be but there is a HEAP of fools who are fans of SEC Teams....if Georgia wins a rivalry game that hard fought we will make out as if the other team (Florida) was worthless as teats on a boar hog. They'd do the same. This is why the motto of the SEC is it just means more....we will stay pissed off for a lifetime over the slightest slight...Texans and Okies are just as big a touch hogs but it lasts about 10 minutes then they are drinking a beer and dancing again. They do that in Texas and Oklahoma...grown men dance. Thats enough to explain a pile of shite about Oklahoma and Baja Oklahoma...

Because in the short term the better the other team does, the higher the chance they make the playoff. Also hope that Alabama continues to do well.
Long term, OU has been relatively successful in football, so hate them but due respect.

OU-Texas is a hated rivalry, only rivaled by Mich-tOSU, but it’s two of the most accomplished programs in the sport, there’s a solid respect built in. The SEC doesn’t have any rivalries outside of Bama vs TN that feature two old school blue bloods with 80+ years of being at the top of CFB. After a game like that where both teams beat the shite out of eachother for 90 minutes you tip your cap to both teams, even if you hate the other.

In the last 50 years, you’ve got the same number of NCs (combined you have 3) as UGA and UF have individually(3 each).

I’d say that is pretty good. We have sucked since then, but OU has made the playoffs 4 more times from 2014 - 2022. Yes, I know, it’s because the Big 12 sucks.. and maybe that is true, but they did take Georgia to OT in 2018.. who then took Alabama to OT.
But yes, only 2 trophy’s to show for it..
