She has been a coach in D1 for only one season. Pretty sad that is the best you could do.

Remind me where Dawn started coaching. Danny White realized that Pat’s coaching tree won’t work for the Lady Vols.

Vols are a football and big 3 mens sports school. Yes our women's basketball team has a rich vibrant history but please let's not sink to LSU fans' levels.

I’m not a big fan of Dawn Staley but she was killing it at Temple before USC. Not to mention she was also still playing when she first started coaching Temple.

I know nothing about this coach but her resume looks impressive for where she’s been. Tennessee has tried the Summitt coaching tree and it hasn’t worked thus far. It’ll be interesting to see how she does but TN had to make a change to try and regain relevance. And to anyone saying TN is a big three school, no one from that school is as well known as Pat Summitt. No one.

She had a .683 winning % at temple...some of the time while playing a professional sport. She had 4 conference championships in 8 seasons. Temple had only 1 NCAA appearance prior to her, and she went 6 of her 8 years. She left the program in a far better place

Pat was atucally a UT-Martin grad. You are correct. The coaching tree has not produced.

Dawn coached at Temple before USC...which was in the Atlantic 10 conference at the time.
Kim coached at Marshall before coming to Tennessee...which is in the Sunbelt Conference.
Both were coaching at schools that were afterthoughts in Women's basketball pretty much the entire history of the program before each of them got there.
