It was his look as he saw the ump eject him : "ME? Do you know who I am?" He was actually shocked at the ejection. So it's the ump who was hotheaded when a college player cursed directly at him? The same player who openly flipped off an outfielder as he rounded the bases...the ump was the hot head?

I hadn't watched much of Tenn prior to the last few weeks while hearing how much of an arse Vitello is as a coach. Went into this game giving them an honest chance and they showed their asses. How does this kid or Vol fans think that this behavior is acceptable? They’ve taken on the tone of their coaches and it’s not good. Win or lose this series against ND, still not right. My 17 year old son who plays baseball was not impressed with that scene today.

Apparently Gilbert had been arguing strikes (yelling at the ump) from center field earlier in the game, and had been warned about it already. Hurts the “hot head ump” theory a bit.
