Alabama's defense looks like it will be a terror again this year.
I read somewhere on ESPN that USC is trying to focus more on the power running game....

Tim Williams is going to have one of the most incredibly disappointing seasons for a Bama player in recent memory. Y'all have such a lofty opinion of a guy that only played on third and longs that its almost comical.

No. They cut Mathieu. They didn't overlook it.
I'm not saying that's so about Williams, BTW. I like seeing a Louisiana guy doing well, and will root for Williams except for one week.

He was the most efficient pass rusher in the entire country a year ago. You're mad as hell he plays for Alabama.

Pretty sure Mathieu never had a problem while in high school. Or if so, I don't remember it. Much easier to not just not recruit a guy than to kick a guy off the team... Which by the way, Mathieu was kicked off the team eventually. Just took multiple drug tests to fail.

There won't be any disappointment from the unit as a whole. Any lack of numbers on Williams' part will be because he was double teamed and his teammates got the benefit.

Thats what I'm getting at. Don't be surprised at all when his sack total is lower despite playing more.

Yeah, the backup ain't quite to the point where he is Cam Robinson material. Thank goodness Cam will be back to full speed in time for fall camp.

Meh. Cam Robinson was out all spring. Korren Kirvin filled in. He's a RT by nature. Plus, spring scrimmages don't usually game plan to stop a pass rusher with extra blockers or chipping. But they eventually had to.

If he simply keeps doing what he has been doing, we won't be disappointed. We know he is a pass rush specialist. In fact he was the most efficient pass rusher in the entire country last year, with a ridiculously high percentage of his snaps resulting in a sack or quarterback pressure. He probably did his job better than just about anyone on the team last year.
We shall see if he can become a more well rounded player and see the field more. If not, and he just continues to absolutely wreak havoc on passing downs, that will be good too.
