In fairness, an orange suit and blue tie would not be a good look. I like you, CAW, I hope it works out for the Gators.

idk, would be a power move if he wore something like this:

Former linebacker should really be able to get our offense off the ground.

And be patient. You guys are awful and it is gonna take time. Not throwing shade at all btw.

Floridas roster is not awful. Assuming he keeps it together and adds some portal kids.

More troubling is y’all have hired 2 coaches in a row that could pass for Carl Childers in a police lineup.

The worst part of this is all I hear or read about this takes my mind to Pat Summerall, the old announcer, and voice of the thousands of hours I played Golden Tee in my youth. Every time I see or hear this name, it takes me back to the Marietta Taco Mac Golden Tee machine.

Give the dude what he needs to succeed.

Well from another Florida board here’s what he’s walking into:
quote:

Condron is the only booster in the Bulls that has publicly supported this Sumrall hire. None of us can find a single Bull that backs the hire and supported it. Sure, some are taking the same approach as some others here, of a "wait and see" and will be supporting. But nobody, outside Condron and SS, wanted this. As for the Bulls and top level booster tiers at other schools, they "should" be in place as a checks and balances apparatus.

quote:

it's almost a 100% consensus, that all boosters would prefer to keep Billy G for next year, versus hiring Sumrall

quote:

There's over 300 active Bull's in our Group Chat and not a single one of them supports Sumrall and everyone that's been vocal the past 20 hrs has pretty much overused the throwing up emoji. NOBODY wants this clown and nobody knows why Condom does. Rationale and logic has left the discussion.

I kinda meant in reference to the season itself. For sure there is talent at Florida.

What's crazy is his record is almost identical to Sunbelt Billy's before the Florida job:

Sunbelt Billy: 40-12
G5 Sumrall: 42-11

I'll play the wait and see. I heard that SOS, and other major former players and coaches talk the guy up.

I just don't get how you pull that trigger immediately after it didn't work for you.
every hire we’ve made this century (2000s) has been a bargain hire

Zook
urban was g5
Muschamp
Macelwain
Mullen
Napier
Sumrall

Only Mullen had some p5 experience but he was a 3rd choice type hire and was a major letdown after ucla stuffed us into a locker for Chip Kelly and Nebraska likewise did for Scott frost

Yeah watching Wuerffel and Meyer read from a teleprompter definitely inspired me.

apparently he’s read all the nasty comments that Florida fans have made about the hire and it supposedly excites him more about the job

Maybe he chose it to troll us about calling him Napier 2.0 which would actually win me over a bit

Damn, things already off to a poor start at Florida. It's going to be a close call, but my prediction is he will be the first of the new coaches to be fired. I'd have Pete Golding second.
I think G5 Johnny will be okay as long as the gata admin stay out of his way, Golding is a bigger question mark.

Consider when Sark got the Texas job he could have poached Golding, (money wasn't a barrier) but after going against Golding's defense in practice daily he chose to go with PK from Washington for his DC hire. Hmm..

For the record, I like Sumrall. It's probably a good hire.

It's who I wanted. Former UK player would have been a nice fit but our AD is a second rate hobo and entirely too meek for today's environment.
