Makes sense.

Difference is Tulane understands that it's a great opportunity for Sumrall and they're grateful for what he did for their school. Kiffin is leaving OM for a conference rival that he says offers him a better chance to make a run for a natty, while his now former team is heading into the playoff and his new team is in shambles.

Not even close to the same thing. I dare say this is worse than what that scumbag Lincoln Riley did to my Sooners. At least we didn't have to play him in the same conference. But they did the same exact thing by trying to destroy their old programs on their way to their new school.

No one on this board was pining for Brian Kelly lmfao. We sure as shite defended it, but it was 100% defense & came with a waterfall of utterly humiliating, emasculating PR — very early on.

This is the first time LSU hit target #1 after firing its coach since LSU hired Saban & everyone hates us + it feels amazing.

You have to be retarded to equate the situations.

Agree there should be more. Sumrall is selling his team out . The only difference is that Ole Miss probably can win a game or two based on personnel but Sumrall is screwing his guys before the Championship as well.

Gee I dunno maybe b/c Sumrall didn't burn down all his bridges in the process like Kiffin did?

Just because Brett McMurphy claims it happened, doesn't mean it actually did.

I don't get all of the hate Kiffin gets for job hopping. Most of his jumps were a natural progression and the only poorly handled one was Tennessee.

USC Assistant - 6 years - left to be NFL head coach

Raiders Head Coach - 2 years - fired

Tennessee Head Coach - 1 year - left for better job
USC Head Coach - 4 years - fired

Alabama Assistant - 3 years - left to be head coach again

FAU Head Coach - 3 years - left for better job
Ole Miss Head Coach - 6 years - left for better job

Don’t typically see a lot of Tulane fans here. You might find people talking about it on Tulane’s campus.

As long as Ole Miss and LSU compete against each other for wins and recruits your point will remain incredibly obtuse.

What?

Ole Miss has 6 SEC championships. UGA didn't pass Ole Miss in championships until 1980, UF didn't pass Ole Miss in championships until 2006, Auburn didn't pass them until 2010.

If only Kiffin had a track record already of coaching one team in the playoffs while he has one foot out the door with a new job...He's already proven he can't handle double duty coaching. Ole Miss players deserve someone who will give them their full effort and attention. That's impossible for Kiffin

Florida isn’t going to a bowl, and Tulane is allowing him to stay. Much different situation

I agree different situations, but the same situation when it comes to the person’s decision. Should have Kiffin only been looking for teams not bowl eligible?

Y'all didn't make near this many threads about BK.
The fact you can't use well y'all coach killed a kid has y'all ate up.
The decision he made is what he made. This board is more hurt than Ole Piss fans right now.
Wonder why?

Lane would still be in Oxford if allowed to coach his team in playoffs.
He wasn't allowed so what was he supposed to do after that?

Kiffin could have kept everything under wraps until after the playoffs but instead
sent his family on a very public tour of
Gainesville and Baton Rouge while insisting
he was praying on his decision . If LSU had
agreed to wait until after the playoffs why
make it public ? My guess is he wanted to be fired then try to negotiate a buyout from Ole Miss. Just remember to keep Vaseline handy.

LSU was going to let him stay through the playoffs until his last game. So you are saying it’s OM’s fault it ended the way it did.

They don't understand this or they just deflect because they are mad.
This is the truth.

Difference is LSU and OM are rivals and OM knows LK is going to gut the roster and staff if he can.

Not saying you are wrong but doesn't that happen after a coaching change?

Most coaches take their guys with them.
Even if they were gutted it would have been at the end of season instead of before the playoffs.
