15 university presidents are telling him what they want and don't want.
Sankey works for them and is following orders.

Not to mention LSU brought this on themselves.
Allegedly, the LSU president and AD are puppets and LK ignores them and listens only to the governor.

I remember when Florida had some pride.

What do you think Sankey would've done to Spurrier? Spurrier was the king of making snide but funny random comments. Bet you wouldn't be so supportive of Sankey then.

Maybe Sankey should retroactively expel Florida from the SEC for the actions of Spurrier in the 1990s. You know there was shady stuff going on in Gainesville back then. Florida doesn't go from a nobody to a national power like that overnight without shady stuff going on.

This is 100% correct.

No SEC commissioners make moves without the backing of the University Presidents and Chancellors.

There is no verified proof that all 15 presidents back these motions. This is politics 101 and we will never know what is going on behind the scenes.

If it was a few of the presidents I could concede the point. This is the entire conference against LSU. And yet supposedly LSU did nothing wrong.

Not remotely likely if you run the odds.

I can't express how pissed I am that the UA President is in favor of expelling a founding member of the SEC over this trivial shite. AND that he's colluded with 14 other SEC presidents to emboldened Greg Sankey, giving him full authority to carry out those orders. It's unfathomable that this is taking place, and so publicly.

It's almost as if the Presidents and Chancellors have seen the evidence not presented to RT1941 and realize this isn't just "trivial shite"

LSU fans have been crying like bitches this week. Only a homer like you wouldn't look at your own fanbase. Look how many fricking threads there are of LSU fans crying on here....

LSU has been out of control for a while. Just look at their other hires.

Then you have the guvnah saying "don't hate the playa, hate the game."

More like 4-5 pushing the issue.

Yes, Sankey works for them, but a great leader would have navigated this in a much better fashion.

When LSU didn't roster the players, he had won. He should have made a statement reiterating the SEC rules and claimed victory for the SEC, while at the same time telling the few Presidents pushing to escalate this that it was a bad look for the SEC.

I put most of the blame for the current situation on the NCAA

But if you do not think Sankey is pulling some strings here you are nuts, The guy requires unquestionable power. Without teeth, all of the independent SEC governance talk is useless. The SEC needs a test case to see where they stand and to see if their threats of self governance will ring hollow. LSU with Kiffin is the perfect punching bag

Exactly the reason he should be fired.

Your problem here is you are off a decade. Florida became a power in the 80's, but got smacked down with the 2nd worst NCAA sanctions by the NCAA after SMU. Not only that, Spurrier's 1st team in 1990 wasn't allowed to win the SEC championship because of violations in the 80's even though they won it on the field.

And we should never forget that after UF won the SEC in 1984 the SEC presidents (led by Tennessee) met and voted to take it away after the fact. UF still does not recognize this title. They also would not let us claim 1985.

And Spurrier has always had a certain level of disdain for those teams from the 80's. Spurrier might throw out a funny barb or two, but he has always played by the rules. And commissioner Roy Kramer knew Spurrier was beyond reproach. That Tennessee loving sumbitch would loved to have thrown the book at Florida.

They told him not to read the rule book? Or come up with an answer on consistent enforcement of bylaws and the definition of a pro athelete?
