It's very important to UK fans that their coach "turned down" any other P5 program.

I don't see it that way. Not at all.

This doesn't mean Kentucky is suddenly a better football program than A&M. Kentucky simply is not. Now, it might mean - maybe - that Mark Stoops and A&M both pulled back from this thing at the 11th hour and realized it wasn't a good fit for either side. If so, that would show a level of maturity and self awareness rarely seen from either coaches or ADs.

I'd like to know two things that I'll never know - what happened at the Kentucky coaches meeting when they got back to Lexington yesterday. And what happened when the AD had to start calling the board of regents about this.

Baw, despite your disappointment, Stoops is here till Iowa opens up. We all know what happened, Marrow told Stoops he was a fricking idiot for wanting to leave Lexington.

They don't call him King George for nothin'. Money well spent.

We're not concert goers. Last show was Brad Paisley - who was very, very entertaining.

Smart move by Stoops. He probably just couldn't get past those gay cheerleaders

Some of y'all are hilarious and couldn’t have less of a grasp on the actual facts.

But emotional venting is what message boards are all about, so it is what it is.

Stoops was ready to come to Aggieland and had made that known amongst those in his circle. For various reasons it fell through, and ultimately that’s probably best for all involved. Good luck to him, and continued success to the UK fb program.

You know, I actually did guess the Marrow angle on the Score Board thread this morning. Marrow is the one guy I don't think Stoops makes a move without. It would not surprise me. But we won't know for a while. Eventually, it'll come out.

I don't even know if I'm disappointed. Yes, I'd prefer Sumrall - but it's a risk. We know what we have now. A duo that can recruit, but make really, really infuriating in-game decisions, yet have measurably improved Kentucky Football. And consistently play middle third of the SEC football with bottom third of the SEC talent. They're doing something right Monday thru Friday. It just doesn't always show on Saturday.

But it's better. No doubt.

per sauces?

Because absolutely no one from Stoops inner circle is reporting that.

Stoops is too good for that place. I'm glad he's staying at UK.

Why I keep saying, I would love to know what was said in the coaches meeting yesterday. Because something changed, from the Stoops side, because of it. That was the pullback from Stoops - which I think was probably happening while A&M was pulling back as well.

And logically, that had to be Marrow. Is there anyone else that holds sway over Stoops, that he simply can't do without ? I know he likes Brad White - but I don't think he could change Stoops mind.

I'll be listening to KSR tomorrow. Matt Jones won't tell everything he knows - but he'll hint.

If I were aggy (lol) I would allow the narrative that Stoops turned you down to take hold, because the alternative is super shitty and poisons the well for the few remaining coaches that haven't told you no.
Aggy could frick up a soup sandwich, though.
