This is EXACTLY what he is saying. No one plays all p4 and of course we are going to schedule some cream puffs. The difference is we risked an actual loss with a prestigious program. 90% of college football isn’t doing that, sorry yall don’t like facts on tRant

It’s only a few more years before he’s off the wagon and pounding the sauce.

Steve Sarkisian threw shade at programs who schedule ‘cupcake’ games to open their seasons.

I saw the clip he was talking about opening this season before Conference

He was talking about non-Conference games in general and calling out Teams like Indiana that schedule three cupcakes

UGA’s schedule is particularly pathetic

Almost as pathetic as seeing Auburn fans grasp at straws to bash UGA.

It's week 2, schedule talk is simply much ado about nothing for a few more weeks. But I'll be glad to trash you in November when we play 5 straight P5 opponents & Auburn plays Samford

He’s talking about the entire OOC, which is the opening of the season before conference play which is all you control as a university. UGA gets pass obviously, 90% of the rest don’t

Until the playoff system is more fair, very few teams are gonna schedule tough OOC games. It doesn't pay to do that. What might work is to let some considerable part of TV revenue from non-conference games be split between those two schools instead of going into the conference pool. That's an incentive to play good non-conference matchups.

Why does Georgia get a pass? Georgia Tech isn’t elite. We’ve played Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame as our OOC.

Georgia Tech is not a G5 or FCS cupcake. Plus, they put everything into winning that UGA game. When we had an 8 game conference schedule, Georgia played an extra OOC quite frequently; played Clemson home and home and Notre Dame home and home, Oregon neutral site and North Carolina neutral site since Kirby's been at UGA. And also another Clemson home and home right before Kirby. Most teams weren't playing two P5's OOC during those years. Most good teams wouldn't even schedule Georgia Tech's triple option with cut blocking galore.

Now that we've gone to 9 game conferences slates, very few teams will schedule 11 P4 teams per year, especially if one is a bitter OOC rival, elite or not. It's not a good strategy and it costs you a home game. Georgia wasn't in favor of the 9 game conference schedule, but now it's here and this is the consequence. Teams either have to drop their traditional non-conference rivals or most of their other OOC games.

Oh can it Sark. We have the Same Ohio State you have scheduled in 2030/31 for a home and home. Over the last 10 years we've had Clemson (before they were awful), Notre Dame, Oregon not to mention frequent clashes with Bama and LSU during their peak years while you were getting blown out of the Big 12. And then of course there is the whole whipping you every time we've played since you got to the SEC.
