What do you think a screen pass is?
No blockers were sent in front of him. It was a flare. Bowers was just too fast for too too (whom was responsible for him on that play).
The actual pass was actually very difficult. To get the ball up and down that quickly so the defense couldnt reset/react. To release the ball at that angle with a free defender literally "on" his face.
For all of the great throws by Aaron Murray, he never could get the ball up and down like that. If he could, UGA may have had 2 championships.

He’s a game manager at best
For a game manager, he sure did abuse man coverage a lot for 40+ yard pass plays. And before you talk about the talent at uga, three of those receivers hauling in 40+ yard bombs were true freshmen. 2 of them were not highly touted recruits at all (tennessee ignored both AD Mitchell and Ladd McConkey in recruitment).

When teams sellout to stop the run and cover short receivers have all day to adjust to a ball. Bennett was rarely hits folks in stride, it was throw towards the middle with everything he had and hope the receiver could find it.
He’s still short, still has an average to below average arm, still isn’t fast or a powerful runner. Yes he was the QB of the national champions but they won on Defensive depth and catching breaks with the schedule (1st year and last year coaches) and Bama injuries in the national title game.
Kid has no future passing a football in a competitive level.

Bryce Young threw two very, very, VERY bad Interceptions in the National Championship game. One when the chips were down and sealed the fate of your favorite team.

This is just patently false. They won bc they were the best team in the country and yes they had a generational defense. Somebody has to run the offense and he did the job. He’s not an NFL caliber QB but most of those didn’t win the NC and many who did are not starting NFL QB’s.
Tebow yes, Stafford no
Wuerfful yes, Tee Martin yes, Manning no, Tom Brady no, Aaron Rodgers no, Chris Leak yes, Matt Ryan no, Drew Brees no, McCarron yes, Josh Allen no, Dan Marino no, Patrick Mahomes no, John Elway no
It’s utterly unnecessary to be an NFL prospect to be a good college QB.

While this theory may sound good on paper, uga didn’t have the rbs to force teams to sell out in reality. Also, coaches had too much tape on Bennett. Unlike you, They knew they had to account for his downfield throwing.

The upper echelon of d1 football isn’t competitive? You must get your rocks off to stay the dumbest shite possible.

Since you are predictably willing to ignore the players uga had out…….
don’t forget to include elite first half passing.
Problem is you aren’t smart enough to see that or man enough to admit that as We have seen You run from this fact based point since June.

Define “competitive.”
He’s currently the starting QB of an SEC team and won the national championship last season, and that seems to be a pretty fricking high competitive level. Higher than 99.9% of kids who dream of playing QB ever hope to reach.

Fans east of the Mississippi that beg for respect sound like those schools west of the miss that do, indeed beg for it.

You don’t make it to the CFP with a bad QB

Honest question:
Is Georgia successful because of Stetson Bennett's QB ability, OR is Stetson Bennett successful and look like a top QB because he has NFL talent surrounding him?

Uga 2021 was an all around elite team with no real weakness. Top 5 offense with top 5 qb, top 5 defense, top 5 punter, elite mentality.

Every QB needs good people around them. Look what Bryce Young had to work with while earning a heisman. Stet V did it with Freshman WRs & TEs.

I think he and AJ McCarron share a helluva lot of similarities in the way they play QB. Supposed "Game managers" who are really gunslinger mentality guys who sometimes get in trouble when they try and make plays that aren't there.

He has a ring. Pretty sure he'll take that all day over what people think. Getting respect is for the unproven.
Having said that, did UGA reqlly respect him? I may be mistaken, but was he even projected to be the starter if Daniels had been healthy?

i’ve actually said on here before that I think he’s like a slightly better, more mobile McCarron.

He earned respect despite getting none until our starter got hurt.

Agreed. When he got his shot, he stepped up, especially when it counted.
I guess my point was it didn't really look like he was "the guy" at UGA until Daniels was a no go, which could factor into perception of the media.
