The powers that be were thinking the same. Arnett has been promoted - 4 year deal.

You have to go and get a rock star offensive coordinator from the Leach tree now.

Samford head coach is first call.
Then start going after sitting OCs at Power 5

you had that group on genespage who literally hated leach and called for him to be fired on a daily basis. They were actually mad after the egg bowl win, hoping they could fire him. Those are the losers I’m talking about

Nobody listens to them they are just the typical idiots every fanbase has. Some Bama fans wanted Saban fired this year

Do you really think Keenum is sitting in his office only mourning and not thinking about this 90% of the time? Do you not think, whoever has been interviewing for AD has not been calling their coaching contacts since Sunday?

Keenum and Brett were thinking of a plan when Leach was hospitalized and in critical condition. They likely knew even if he lived he wouldn’t continue coaching

When you’re in charge you put emotions aside and do your job. It comes with the responsibility

We already have an assistant head coach. He may not be a popular choice but that's his role and he already has 3 years as a head coach and a top Mississippi recruiter. He may have been bad as HC but that's the best moving forward until after the bowl game.

Who is this? I’ll probably feel stupid asking

It feels like the safe thing to do is promote Zach Arnett to head coach.

This is what i told some my State buddies. I think he would be a great fit.

Tony Hughes is our Asst. Head Coach.
Great coach and man but probably at this stage and his age , not necessarily the guy to be HC.
Though I would have been onboard with him.

But doing this with Arnett is the right decision. Are their risks? Yep. But waiting would have been an even bigger risk IMO.

if this was happening in Gumpville and Saban bit the dust you gumpsters would be climbing the walls looking for his replacement.

hell, the SEC committee of cheaters would be clambering for his upstart so gumpville would continue the 'entitlement' lifestyle.

get off your high elephant and stop looking down on the Bulldogs.

I guess you forgot that they "mourned" Bear Bryant for 25 years.
