When Kirby retires, he will have a much more impressive resume than Spurrier.

He won the heisman trophy as a player and won a national title as a coach. That’s probably won’t ever happen again.

winning the ACC at Duke at the time he did - the way he did - when Dirty Danny had a chokehold on cheating in the conference - that alone puts him ahead of anyone that ever coached at Georgia.

he built Florida into a national champion - in a way that revolutionized modern college football. he had at least 4 Gator teams that would've reached the CFP had it existed in its current format in the 90s/00s.

he took South Carolina to SECCG and beat Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin & UMiami in consecutive bowl games while finishing in the Top 10 three consecutive seasons.

he holds the record for most football wins at 2 SEC schools.

he's SEC royalty and a CFB legend -

Did you ever consider investing in a journal? That way you could get your useless points out and save the board from your daily stupidity? Just a thought.

Yea, but he took over a program that had never been relevant in college football. They went 100 years before they won the SEC.

I agree with this assertion.

Funny how UGA fans forget… Spurrier kicked off a span where UGA won about once every decade for a couple decades.

Funny how UF fans forget…..Dooley did the same to Florida from 1964-1989.

Dude won like 6 SECC which is grown man accomplishments. You need to be good and fortunate to win the NC. He also coached in an era of Bobby Bowden, Paterno, Osbourne, Holtz, Stallings. And Fat Phil.

He’s a legend.

If Kirby coached in the non playoff era, he probably only has 1 title right now after losing to Bama in the SEC title game. so pump the brakes a bit

He beat UGA 11/12 times when he was at Florida. He made LSU his bitch. Look how the tables turned as soon as he left… we handle Florida with ease now.

He coincided with Bowden on an incredible run at FSU. I’m not gonna look it up, but I’m betting games against FSU cost him more than one natty.

Spurrier was elite. UGA may be new money, but don’t forget those that came before.

I hated Spurrier when he was beating Georgia almost every year and running his mouth about it.
I actually respect Spurrier now.

No he probably still has 2 bc he would’ve gotten one in ‘17. BCS would’ve had UGA vs Clemson in the title game.

He served up a dose of STFU to Horse Head Manning on an annual basis; that’s a plus for me.

Even though the man has been retired for multiple years Georgia fans are still terrified of SOS ( whom I'm a big fan of).

He is probably the most under-rated and over-rated coach at the same time. I would say that he probably should have one another national title during his stint at Florida. Had he worked the entire season like he did in preparation for UGA or Florida State, he likely would have.

Make no mistake about it, he left South Carolina mid-season to not have a worse winning percentage then Vince Dooley. He laid awake all night concerned about it, and decided to hang it up.

Regardless of being a Georgia fan, the guy is one of the greatest of all time when he was focused on a team he hated, and he was a national treasure for the media and fans.
