bullshite. I bet a large majority of coaches would say the exact same thing. Everyone knows their situation is BS. The BCS would be FINE without Notre Dame IMO. The only BCS games Notre Dame has ever been in were shittastic blowouts. Not even any excitement leading up to the ND BCS games, were all considered to be blowouts prior and did just that.

Then why haven't they? Everyone else just quietly goes along with it. Hell, the ACC didn't even have the nerve to tell them to shite or get off the pot.

Spurrier (with the rest of the SEC Coaches backing him) is one of the few to have the balls to do it on ESPN out in the open. That's the difference.

I loved how he just made it sound like they were all sitting around at the meeting, shooting the shite, and was like "You know what's some shite?".

There were. And they did. I was there.

1. ND was in the NC last year, I'd qualify that as doing something on the field. They may not have done anything on the field against Bama in the game, but an undefeated regular season is VERY hard to achieve.

Ohio State did it last season but with their schedule it was not hard to achieve. Nothing stopping the Irish or Buckeyes from playing decent SEC teams during the regular season, yet they do not. Therefore, hard to respect those undefeated seasons.

Meh, they did deserve to go last season, but I somewhat agree here.

I hope more coaches take swings at ND

ND is keeping open their options. By joining the ACC, their basketball and non revenue sports are taken care of. They have one foot into the ACC for football by contractually agreeing to play 5 games per year. If and when they are "forced" to join a conference, they can easily slide into the ACC. For now, they want to keep their NBC money.

He beat us in 2011??? That must've been such a traumatizing lose that I completely blocked it out of my memory. No wonder LSU fans are still griping about having to play us in the BCSCG.

1.6% of FBS teams finished undefeated (2/124). Yep I think it's pretty hard to do regardless of schedule.

I had a feeling they were going to take a beating against Alabama when I watched Ole Miss handle Pitt in the bowl game. ND struggled with Pitt and needed OTs to beat them.

CockinYourEar nails it. You need to look at the whole context of how/why this "vote" took place. The director of the new playoff system was explaining to the 14 coaches who would be sitting in on the decision making process. As such, he noted that it would be made up of the AD's & presidents of all the big conferences PLUS the AD from N.D. One unnamed coach called out "why is he involved ( N.D.'s AD) & another coach responded "because that's the way it's always been done". And the coaches' discussion on N.D. took off from there. Spurrier did not initiate any of the discussion & was simply stating the fact that all 14 league coaches felt & voted the same way. He also noted that all 14 football and basketball coaches voted to pay a stipend of some sort to players.
