Are they being paid to recruit football players or are they being paid top do some menial job and in their free time recruit football players.

Not sure about if he is asking or stating but I thought that only a set list of coaches could actively recruit now. Wasnt there some new rule put into effect of that nature?
If so, then these girls are breaking that rule by being on the Auburn payroll and actively recruiting these players.
Now if they werent being paid and doing it of their on volition, it would be a diff story, but they are employees of Auburn University and therefore fall under the blanket of the SEC and the NCAA.
Speaking of Auburn University, how many hours of those training courses do you think they drill into their heads that they work for "Auburn University" and not "The University of Auburn"?
