If A&M finishes in the top 25 this year then year 1 will be a huge success for Jimbo. At this point, I am just hoping for bowl eligibility.

That's just absurd. A&M is going to pay a guy $7m+/year to hopefully be bowl eligible? With probably a top 15 or so roster.

In his first year, you forgive a lot. But you don't forgive winning only 5 games with an SEC roster....usually. Looking at their schedule, they have 3 OOCs they should knock off easily, then Kentucky. Then their choices get a bit harder. OM and Arkansas look like the most likely, then USC. MSU...maybe, depending on how the new staff gels. LSU, maybe. Then a murderers row of Auburn, Clemson, and Bama.

I can sort of see 6-7 wins in there, but it won't be easy.

Until he gets his guys, sure.

Frankly I care much more about where we are ranked next NSD then what we are ranked at the end of next season.

I understand this is preseason and 23 isn't some great thing, but remember when everyone said Muschamp would be a disaster for South Carolina?

Where the frick is State? How the hell is Memphis ahead of us? And there are 3 SEC teams on this list State would beat home or away. And I'd add another that State would beat at home.

AM returns 9 on offense (lost 2 WR and then sometime starter at RB, they rotated)

AM returns 8 on defense (lost S, DT, DE)

That's 17 returning starters and a QB (whether it's Starkel or Mond) in their second year.

We should win 8 per the norm, duh.

Not like we are supposed to win a natty this year. You don’t think two top 5 teams at home would make for a fun fall? Not to mention opening the season against a top ten team on a neutral field

I’ll take that over BYU to open and road games at Bama and dumpster fire UT

Here is something to chew on. If Tua starts as it is now there will be 9 5* players on the field when we go on offense.

That number again is 9. 5* players on O

as always we will get no. respect pre season. Its always something with these guys. First it was no line, then no Dak, now No Mullen. According to this board Mullen is a disaster because he couldn't beat the three teams he played with a pulse every year.
