Class of 2030 stats

UGA Incoming Class of 2030:
-- ACT range: 31-34
-- SAT range: 1360 - 1500
-- GPA range: 4.13 - 4.40
-- Acceptance rate: ~29%

It's safe to say I would be firmly rejected from my alma mater if I was applying in 2026. I'm sure others can sympathize with their respective alma maters - Southern schools have become incredibly competitive.

Wonder the range is for the football and basketball teams?

Perhaps, but remember there is a severe case of grade inflation and dumbing down of standardized tests over the last several decades. It wasn't even possible to get over a 4.0 when I graduated high school, and a 4.0 was very uncommon.

In my day (90s) you could get into Vanderbilt with a 3.5/28.

Absolutely zero chance I could get into Texas now. Back when I applied, I was accepted because I was in the top 25% of my class.

It's a massive problem. Walk into most private schools and not a single kid as under a 4.0 GPA despite the fact that half of them would t be able to pass a basic math class if their life depended on it.

It's a problem in public schools too, but not to the same extent. Public schools will give everyone a C to move them through. Private schools give everyone A's so the parents stay happy and keep paying that $50k a year in tuition.

I presume other schools do like UGA does and track the performance of students from each high school. They know that a 4.0 from one school might be different than a 4.0 from another.

I didn’t even get accepted to UGA in 1988! I clowned my way through HS with a 2.8 and took the SAT still buzzing and no sleep from an all night drinking party. I had to spend a year at KSU and buckle down and get serious and then transfer in.

If you came thru with this generation you would ...

In 1993 65 kids got a 36 act.... This year just shy of 3000..... They have dumbed down GPAs and Standard test..
