And for the life me cant figure out how. This team was miserably bad in OOC play (4-8???) and wasn't competitive at all with LSU, UK or Tennessee.

Team with lots of new faces and early injuries improves as the season progresses. It isn't that hard to figure out.

I'll give you a hint, the SEC isn't the best basketball conf still. A few good teams, but not as good as SEC network announcers make us out to be.

We also played Michigan, Virginia, Wofford, Stony Brook in OOC. All of which will make the tournament

Yeah, but Frank Martin is a better coach than 80% of the SEC.

If he didn't have to replace 75% of his team every season due to transfers and quitters, then he'd be much more consistently successful.

We lost to better teams and beat teams we were better than?

Outside of Wyoming and maybe Okie State (who beat LSU)
(both these games were on the road)

All of those teams we lost to were better than us.

Yes that is the only head scratcher.

other than that, the others aren't too much.

Face it, the SEC is not great outside of the top 3, and even the top 3 have "huh" losses (well other than UT)

Freshman had to grow up and Chris Silva started out the season in a huge slump. Tough OOC with Michigan, Virginia, Clemson, Wofford, etc. The loss to Wyoming was unacceptable, but stuff happens. The top of the SEC is clearly better than us, but it's at least fun again watching Gamecock basketball.

This is only hard to figure out for you. Those three teams are very good.

The rest aren’t.

Riveting stuff, I know

who here is saying or even thinking it is?

The SEC is top 3 and has been in consecutive years. The SEC is one of the BEST basketball conferences right now.

They have their weaknesses but IMO they play to their strengths well. The style of play they choose is a nightmare for Auburn right now and IMO many other teams are mimicking the approach Frank takes when he plays Auburn.

they got a pretty easy draw (unbalanced schedule) and have been handling business against the middle of the conference at home and against the bottom of the conference on the road and at home, to their credit

we blew a solid lead against them in that stretch where we couldn't hold a lead to save our lives

So that means we are #3 lol.

I said there are good teams in the SEC, but there are other teams out there - in other conferences - that are better. We may get 8 teams in, but we might not even have one team make the final four. Just because teams are great this year - outside of Kentucky - those teams have little experience. Not a knock at all, just pointing it out.
