Another though - and I highly double this would happen - but I think the playoff committee could just leave Texas Tech out of the playoffs and not breach and rules / injunctions.

CFP is wholly separate from the NCAA, so any ruling against the NCAA wouldn't bind the CFP. In theory, the CFB can punish Texas Tech for this.
Not a bad idea. The CFP is not a party to the suit. But, I'm afraid that if Tech wins the Big XII, under their current rules, they would likely get in. Now, if it was a case of needing an at large, that's a different matter.

Paying players when it wasn’t legal. Totally against NCAA rules. But then again, the SEC has always done that and now everyone is pissed that others can legally do it now and you lost your competitive advantage.

This will end the same way it always has for Texas Tech, both before and during the NIL era. With no natties lol

Such a tired excuse.

Everyone has been paying players forever. Iowa or someone got in trouble for paying players in like the 1920's.

My long-held passion for college football has dwindled to nearly zero at this point. The sport has become an absolute clown show now.

the most ironic part of this is that sports boards are littered with posts bitching about Kirby Smart suggesting the SEC leave the NCAA while simultaneously celebrating a decision that effectively renders the NCAA powerless.

This just adds fuel to Smart's comments. We'll see how this plays out. We're going to find out of the NCAA has any power left.

So you think LSU tampered. But because the NCAA hasn't found them guilty we don't really know.

So the same position as Ole Miss.

It's not even close to the same. You have an allegation and an investigation. LSU/Kiffin do not. You are just lashing out because you are butthurt that Kiffin left.

but it gives them hope, which will make the inevitable failure that much more devastating to them.

but they can still blame Texas, somehow

So, you want the NCAA to retroactively punish LSU for something that happened 7 years ago? Or do you want Orgeron punished? I ask again, step in to do what exactly? How much was Texas Tech paying Mahomes when he played LSU?

Neither school is currently in trouble. Neither school has been punished for anything. An investigation doesn't mean anything until there's a punishment. For all we know LSU could be under investigation.

And your terrified of Ole Miss continuing to be successful and not missing their old coach, just like when LSU stole NDs coach.

.

Not at all lol-

Fans are happy with Lane, happy Ole Miss hired Golding instead of Sumrall, and happy to see Golding fail should that occur.

Sorry my man, Pete doesn’t strike fear in opposing fan bases, LSU or otherwise, and is not a coveted head coach.

This is absolutely insane.

Something has to be done about this.

Coach O should not be allowed back. Self admitted that he knowingly broke the rules. Of course every SEC school was also.
Selective outrage is apparent. Again, you guys just like to have everyone else play by the rules so you have an advantage. It scares you to lose that advantage and have to compete straight up.

Yup. This must be overturned and I guess congress does need to get involved.

It’s absurd these local judges can even rule on eligibility when it comes to breaking rules. This was so clear cut and yet a local judge would rather be bias.

The playoff committee just needs to not put Tech in the playoff.

let's be honest here. Tech is no threat to win it all with or without Sorsby.

but that's not the point. Gambling on your own team is a clear violation and ban. If the NCAA loses this, say goodbye to the NCAA.
