I would be willing to bet Steve gets an increase in pay as well.

What was stated:
quote:

So Brady is up $1mm/year now as pass coordinator. Esmingher makes how much? What's the budget?

Just seems awkward that the old man is around.

how LSU fans read it, as they smiled:
quote:

So Brady stayed for only $1mm/year as pass coordinator. Saban and Fisher make how much? What's the budget?

Just seems awkward that those old men are still around.

He coached QBs this year. In your direct experience, how'd that position do for LSU?

He also called plays, with input from Brady. Next year, that might shift, but E will likely still coach QBs.

Yeah it really is awkward as hell. I mean, did you see our offense this year? It’s like they don’t see eye to eye.

I’m sure you’re thrilled there’s no change in the booth for next season.

E makes like 875K I think

He may either retire or just keep going forward as a CO-OC for a year. The dude loves LSU has no ego and is happy to help in anyway.

I am sure that Brady has added a lot, and I do mean a lot, to the offense but Coach E has been, by every account, the steady hand guiding the offense.

He is, I dare say, close to retirement, and he's just pulled off one of the greatest seasons, offense wise, in college football history.

If Esmingher sucks than may all of the Arkansas OCs from now on be as horrible as he is. Him and Brady are a hell of a team.

The obvious answer is obvious. His job is to ease Brady into the OC job. If Brady departs then his job is to ease the next young offensive coach into the OC job.

I don't say this to insult the guy. But he's at the tail end of his career. His family suffered a horrible loss. He's a lot closer to be retiring than he is to starting out. He still has a tremendous amount to offer.

A calm, steady, hand at the OC to filter through what the young gunslinger wants to run is not a bad thing at all.

Well said.

the ole man is the one who brought in Brady and gave him a chance. They obviously worked well together and hopefully will continue to do so for the time being. However, they can only do so much with the talent at hand and Burrow was the talent at hand. The rest is history

To hell with all you guys bad mouthing the Slinger. Go pound sand!

Coach E will get what he wants. Slinger and Kevin Faulk are legends at LSU and do a great job for the University.

No. Ensminger has leadership and general old person wisdom. Also, he’s not an idiot. He knows football X’s and O’s. He’s going to stick around until he retires in one fashion or another. Then Brady will probably be OC once he understands leadership and all the intangibles of being an upper level coach. That’s like saying “Why did the packers keep favre if they had Rodgers?” So Rodgers could learn and favre was still good.
