So what's the point of Esmingher now?

So Brady is up $1mm/year now as pass coordinator. Esmingher makes how much? What's the budget?

Just seems awkward that the old man is around.

Steve Ensminger is LSU's OC and qb coach. He calls our plays.

Joe Brady is our receivers coach and passing game coordinator.

My GUESS is they will be Co-OC's in 2020.

He has earned any role he wants.

Obviously Brady is ok with the agreement.

The obvious answer is obvious. His job is to ease Brady into the OC job. If Brady departs then his job is to ease the next young offensive coach into the OC job.

I don't say this to insult the guy. But he's at the tail end of his career. His family suffered a horrible loss. He's a lot closer to be retiring than he is to starting out. He still has a tremendous amount to offer.

A calm, steady, hand at the OC to filter through what the young gunslinger wants to run is not a bad thing at all.

You should be more concerned with UT, and finishing 3rd in the East.

doesn't seem awkward to me, and if it's not broken, why fix it?

It's cute that you think that.

and qb coach

Ensminger has wrecked quarterbacks everywhere he's ever been. One season with someone else telling him what to do with his QB should tell you that. One of the brightest young minds in football is responsible for all of that.

Eaux is loyal to his friends. I respect that. Ensminger supported him getting the HC job. But it's also why Ensminger will still get to sit in the booth on Saturdays. There is no other reason.

WWL radio in New Orleans said earlier this week that Brady’s deal would be 2-3 years and after the contract is up, Brady becomes OC. Coach E becomes an antlyst or some part of the team TBD. Win- Win for everyone.

I get a bit annoyed that he doesn't get the credit he is due. Yes, Brady is an offensive genius. That having been said I think having Coach E looking over his shoulder has improved Brady a lot.

Here is an interesting fact.

After A&M fired Emsminger, a quarterback from Austin decommitted from them. That QB is now the NFL's all-time leader in touchdown passes.
