we'd like to hire someone with integrity

McElwain got canned, in large part, because he was abrasive and didn't play well with others. This is the same reason Mullen never got a look the last two times the UF job came open.
bingo
There is a lot of bad blood between boosters and Mullen. I know Miss St fans love to think that UF offered Dan and Mullen rejected them, but they have never offered him, and probably never will.
re: Jimmy Sexton hard to read can't get Mac his $12M

I think there was something else that Jim did, that has not been disclosed. In addition to that, he quit on the team and wanted out. A couple of weeks ago, there was a rumor that he was putting feelers out there for jobs because he wanted out. It was a mutual divorce.

re: How can conservatives remain Catholic under this Pope?
Posted by austingator on 8/21/17 at 12:53 pm
I'm sorry, but I go to the catholic church to worship God, and receive the sacraments. Pope's are not infalible in matters that are not related to cannon and faith. So there, I don't have to agree with Francis's political views.
And btw, this country was founded by inmigrants, and immigration is important for our future as a country, since Americans are not being very willing to have babies.

re: So it looks like dems did in fact make sizeable inroads in texas

Let's talk about hispanics in Texas. And specifically mexicans.
I know very well several ilegals who have been here for decades. They are all hard working, conservatives in their lives, and not looking for a handout. They just want to be legal. Many have children who have been born here.
When I saw Dora yesterday, I told her I was glad she didn't get deported on the way. She started laughing. Her family is all legal (siblings, children). She said they are all pissed about Obamacare. None of them she said trusted Hillary. They were going to be voting some for Trump, and some for Hillary because the perception of xenophobia and racism. She says deportations have been UP since Obama took office. She says in her personal life everyone is disappointed Obama promised to fix immigration and he didn't when he could. But she says when you watch TV, all is negative towards Republicans. There is a lot of misinformation constantly spread about politics. She was pissed at Trumps language, and the whole "criminals and rapists". This is mainly the reason she says, many were so against Trump.
Tejanos (people who have been in Texas, have a Spanish last name, don't know Spanish, and have been here for generations) are mostly conservative and not really for ilegal immigration. They do, however, have a perception of racism against them from Trump and some republicans, even though they tend to vote republican.
This is a voting block that at least here in Texas, can become solidly republican. IF the attitude changes, and IF they fix the ilegals quandry- these are people who build their lives here. This is an opportunity for republicans. I hope they don't squander it with the whole build the wall and mexico is going to pay for it. For those of you who favor the wall, you need to spend some time down there in Laredo, Brownsville, etc. This problem is very complex. YOU HAVE TO CONTROL THE BORDER, but building a wall isn't the answer. You have to let hard working people be able to come back and forth between Mexico and Texas. It is their way of life, and it benefits America. Listen and try to understand this is a complex problem. To deport people who are hard working, law abiding, and good immigrants in this country would be a horrible mistake.

And all I want to know if my yoga teacher who was saying yesterday that she was not shaving her arm pits until Hillary won yesterday, is going to shave lol.
She was asking people to show up in pant suits to yoga yesterday.
I live in Austin, and the comments have been entertaining. People dressing their daughters like Hillary yesterday should be considered child abuse.

We brought in three QBs, one a grad from Perdue, and LDR, who was a transfer.
For sure we should be better than Treon.

I mean, wasn't the offensive side of the ball the biggest need?
Duh, yes, but recuiting is for the future.
We need DTs, LBs, and DBs. Hopefully we will get Catalina for the OL, but we need to recruit better the OL.
We filled needs, but to compete for championships we will need better talent. We won't do that until we stop stinking the field. Grier shenanigans really hurt our recruiting IMO.
Mac is fixing it. The next class will really say if we come out of this chit hole we are in. I trust MAC, but he has work to do. He really has to coach them up this year, and have a good year, otherwise, we won't compete in recuiting like we should.
