better for both schools in current environment if the DSOR is played earlier in the season as far as rankings and how the current playoff scenarios work.

Really? Then why has it been played in November each and every year?

Why does any game get played when it does?

They can move the Iron Bowl to the 3rd weekend of the season. Auburn would hardly ever beat Bama of they move it that early.

The barn usually doesn't play well early in the year and Bama usually has a much healthier team.

Going back to 08, the only time Bama might have lost an early Iron Bowl was in 14. Even in 10, 13 and 17, Auburn wasn't very good early in those seasons.

All the big conference intradivision rivalries need to be played late in the season.

I agree with an earlier post that UGA needs to swap the AU - UT games.
Especially, since we can't seem to get away from the end of the season OOC games with teams from the East.

Keep this in mind for all of those who want 9 conference games. The SEC controls the conference schedule. Not your own team. Why do you want to give the conference more power to screw you and less control at your own university?

if you believe the SEC is out to screw you then maybe you should look for another conference. I'm getting tired of all the discontents screaming about the SEC. If you don't like it leave it

Why is it hard to believe that an organization would want to suppress the success of most of its entities thereby suppressing itself?

I don't complain about the conference scheduling. But I'm sure that you have been around long enough to see it on this board. Even from gumps.

The point is about giving up control of scheduling voluntarily. It is assinine. Only one entity has your best interests. Your AD. Why give them less to work with?

It’s called tradition, man. It’s a November game. Always has, always will be. Hope UGA and the SEC tells them to shove it

It was also tradition to only run the ball, discriminate against blacks, wear single bar helmets & ride buses to games instead of flying.

Traditions are made to be broken

So the DSOR starts tilting in UGA's favor and all of a sudden the Aubbies wanna move the goalposts

If you played a real schedule instead of being in the East, you would want it moved too.

We play a real team to end the year, not the triple option equlivient of Missouri to end the season.
