So, Texas gets to play Michigan in a meaningless bowl?

I’m cool with that.

Beating Michigan is always fun. Get to 10 wins, go into the offseason with some good thoughts for next year.

Shame there is no SEC affiliation with the Alamo Bowl, it’s kind of tradition around here.

That's one of the meaningless bowl games I'll probably still watch.

Any way they can both lose?

Will be a good game. 10 wins sums up Texas’s history as a program.

Should be a good game. Transitive property says Texas will dominate, but Michigan beat Alabama in a bowl game last season, so who knows?

Even better would be no SEC affiliation with the Texas Longhorns...

Will Arch enter the portal before or after the game?

Texas playing Michigan on New Years Eve is a pretty cool bowl game to me. Two big brands to ring in the new year.

The only reason "bowls mean less" is because some of yall dont actually care about the games. If we go back to the old days even less of yall are possible title contenders.

The games matter, the natty or bust attitude some hold is the only problem with the sport

It will be our non-opt outs and returning players vs their same.

If we played Michigan during the regular season I think we crush them, but backups vs backups (who will play most of the game) is a total crapshoot. If Michigan has more players forego the draft to make a run next year we may be in trouble, but in reality..who knows?

Opt outs are completely overblown. Guys opted out a decade ago, its not some new phenomena.

Last year Michigan's best players opted out, only one Gump opted out, and they still got their arse kicked

Don't worry, he's probably in Collie Station as we speak trying to figure out exactly how he wants to decorate his overalls.

Of course he sucks and ya'll don't want him, but he's at least better than your current backup. Arch has always dreamed of being backup QB at Pyle field, so enjoy!

I hope Texas beats Michigan.

It seems there is a stat that Michigan sits atop, all time wins.

In order for the rest of the football world to get a game closer to that Texas needs to win this one.

In my simulated 24 team playoff, they would have played Michigan yesterday to get to the field of 16.

Right. The same people saying that the conference championship games are now meaningless are also roasting Notre Dame for declining another meaningless bowl game.

This new format will kill off bowl games in time as teams will opt out more and more as players are refusing to play in them to "protect their future football careers" or whatever.

It truly doesn't matter anymore. Until contracts are put in place that will bind players to their school for a minimum 2 years...most will field a new team every year. NIL and the portal have caused this and no one had thie insight to place guard rails from the beginning.
