They shouldn’t be. Was any other school even recruiting him?

He is a 5* athlete.

Just not a great QB.

Several teams would have pursued him if they could afford him while he molds. Paying top dollar to let him learn is risky business.

Yea but there's precedent there they let everyone else do it. OM is just gonna sue and drag it out and he can play while that's happening. The NCAA blatantly just ignored where Ferris State said he had medical issues it was basically undocumented because they weren't gonna start him that year anyway. The whole thing is a big arse game frick it let the kid play

Honestly I hope so.

Crazy he was injured a year and the best they have to prove he wasn’t injured was a note in December after the season is over lol

That's like saying LSU isn't sold on Longstreet as a QB because LSU spent big on Levitt...

Ferris State HC and the university itself both submitted a letter saying Trinidad was injured the entire fall. But that didn't fit with what the NCAA was trying to argue so they left it out of the official response. Ole Miss and Tom Mars have already flagged it and publicly called out the NCAA for hiding evidence

The sad part is Ole Miss was so close to having this QB room.

All they had to do was be a lot better from 1960-2020 and Kiffin would have maybe believed. Probably not, but you never know.

Why else would you offer Simpson over 6 a year..

They didn't. Miami did. OM was at $4

Actually On3 reported that Ole Miss told Simpson they would match Miami's 6.5 mil offer. So they did offer him that amount.

Deuce is the long term answer. He received no development under Hugh (shocking if you watched Auburn QBs, I know) and knows he is raw. Ole Miss is hoping Trinidad gets the waiver and comes back. We were after a few other one year guys just in case.

If Chambliss doesn't get his waiver and we have to roll with Deuce as QB1 next year, then putting an emphasis on the Chambliss waiver was probably a misstep. Time will tell.

What was that again? Ole Miss fans should learn how to count.

I think it's the other way around. LSU fans are really enjoying this.
