This screams little brother syndrome and more so “I’m afraid of Alabama and I need help to cope”
Little bro is still fricked for the foreseeable future

Norvell turned Bama down bro. Live with it. Y’all believe you got the better coach anyway so why does it irk you so much?

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet….

Greg Bryne was in Seattle on Thursday and Friday of that week. Seems Norvell and DeBoer were the top two candidates. But DeBoer was #1 if Byrne is in Seattle the entire time this is playing out.

Wait, are you saying that internet user Stidham8 is wrong again?

The guy couldn't beat DeBoer despite taking over a better program and having much more talent.
Lanning has an 0-3 record against DeBoer
Deboer is a very good coach.
What Deboer has not proven is the ability to bring in recruits. He switches jobs too frequently to have proven that yet.
Perhaps he'll shine at it. But Oregon finished 3rd in the nation in recruiting under Lanning at OREGON. This is his second full class (his first finished 9th in the nation).
Deboer can obviously 'coach up' guys recruited by the prior coach. I think Bama will be very good the next couple of years because of that. But Washington was outside the top 25 recruiting with him at the helm. Given time, recruiting overtakes coaching nearly 100% of the time.
As Terry Bowden said, "You can take the X's and the O's. Give me the Jimmies and the Joes."
In the long run, a coach that can recruit like Lanning (or Smart, or Saban or Ryan Day) will bring in more success than a poor recruiting coach who is great at the coaching side of being a coach.
That's why I fear Lanning as an opposing coach at a top school (which Oregon isn't) more than anyone else. At a school like Alabama or Florida (or UGA) I can't see him ever being outside the top 5 in recruiting. Mostly top 3. That is going to bring success to any program.
I hope Lanning stays at Oregon a long time. He's no threat there.

Norvell valued autonomy over micro-management and following a motherfricking NCAA football coaching LEGEND.
Good choice.
Good choice.

Why do you care? Seriously. If LSU is Everything “U” and Bama is on the decline, Then why go to the lengths to troll like you do? It’s because you’re terrified. And that is fun to watch.

We're into the backend of basketball season, and you're trying to make an ISSUE of who, which or when Alabama football coaches were hired....WTF!!
Who cares?
Hell!..spring practice has already started!
Grow the frick up, and stop all this "little bro" shite. Auburn athletics has plenty to talk about, without you having to put your envy and jealousy on display for everyone to laugh at.

Alabama valued Deboer over Norvell….better choice. Natty game vs not making playoffs.

OP, you seem to have reading comprehension problems. Article doesn't say that. You are just reading between the lines which is not always accurate!!

Byrne had a name on his mind for years and he hired the guy.

I don't really care about the reason, Lanning is a coach I don't want to see come to a top SEC program other than UGA at some future date.
I respect his ability to coach defense and recruit (particularly in the south). He's the only coach in the nation that I think might be a Nick Saban/Kirby Smart/Ryan Day level recruiter at a top school. I really didn't want to face him at Bama on the recruiting trail (or at UF when they fire Napier going forward).
Guy is a great coach. Geographically he is put at a disadvantage with Oregon as far as recruiting. Sure they have a great NIL collective and Nike that help. Put him at a top program down south and he would put together several #1 classes.
