So LSU apparently is going to play in the Texas Bowl with <40 scholarship players...

This is impressive and one of the reasons LSU is a tier 1 athletic program and simply commands respect.
frick the opt outs, frick all the bullshite about too many meaningless bowl games, frick taking the easy way out... LSU just going to man up and play with whoever the frick can suit up and wants to play the game.
With all that is wrong with college football, the NIL, the transfer portal, the respect my decision attention whores... the LSU football team comes through old school and may have a few go ironman but not by choice. I don't care what the final score is because LSU has already won in my opinion.
Much needed breath of fresh air for college football at the moment.

Why not? They'll get a game with the new coach and a few extra practices for a team that's about to experience a serious youth movement. It's not like Kansas State is some goliath. Sounds like a good call to me.

Kelly is not coaching the bowl game. Personally, I think this game is a tremendous waste of time. But I respect the guys who want to play.

Good for LSU. Nobody to take their place this late in the process. Glad they're willing to play the game with they have to avoid cancellation.
I commend programs playing shorthanded. And I commend programs withdrawing early enough to find a suitable replacement to avoid cancellation.

The man just told you 10 reasons why other teams have pulled out . The point he’s making is valid . LSU has nothing to gain by trotting out the scout squad, yet they do it anyway for all the right reasons. Respect for the game and playing for the fun of it has gone away. Props to my Tigers

Lotta young guys are gonna play in the game, we win and these young guys go into next year with some confidence. Start meshing together next year's team early.
