Lane has done a great job in Oxford but consider this: we still don't have much evidence that he's going to win the big one. At every stop he's made, his teams have never had fewer than 2 loses.

People just assume he's a young Saban waiting to happen, but that's not a given. Doesn't take away from the fact that he's still a very good coach.

This is Saban's last year. Lane is looking to take his place.

Not really. I want him to stay at Ole Miss long term and I think he can build a championship program, especially in this new era of college sports. I’m just pointing out he hasn’t done it on a big stage yet.

This validates every point about Ole Miss not having the same opportunity as Auburn. Im honestly not sure Lane is the right guy though. He really hasn't accomplished much other than taking advantage of mid tier SEC teams being down.

If OM opens their NIL checkbook they can compete for
the sec and NC.It is a new day in which money talks and
most players have no loyalty to the schools just the green.
Having said that OM better start paying top dollar for
coordinators and position coaches.

FIFY

No one who is still coaching (as a head coach) is publicly accepting a job before the season is over. That’s not saying Kiffin is leaving or not leaving but just stating what should be obvious.

This is the 3rd time I've tried to tell you this totally secret shortcut to posting on message boards, but you don't have to hit enter at the end of every line of text you type in the "reply" box.

If your text reaches the end of the box, just keep typing normally! It automatically wraps to the next line like internet magic

Basically you can take what Irons Puppet says with 100%, rock solid certainty.

And then turn it around 180 degrees and bank on THAT happening. He has a stellar reputation when it comes to determining exactly what won't happen.

Let's see big T-town. I posted a list of people who an Auburn Committee interviewed the first week of their hunt for a Gus replacement. You brilliant Cult members of the Crimson Tide made fun of the list, then over time we find that everyone on the list was interviewed by Auburn via Zoom.
Then you all came out against the list by saying that Harsin wasn't on it so it had to be made up. You totally ignored the facts and the articles that Greene selected Harsin completely on his own. No interviews with anyone except Greene. It was all over the news, but it didn't fit your narrative, so you pretended it never existed.

This guy knows Lane and how he thinks!

Don't know Kiffin and have never pretended to know him. But I do watch the coaching game and have seen many coaches come and go and are hot one year and cold afterwards. The smart hot ones take advantage of the temperature, and the others ignore the temperature. Kiffin has done both, so I am given him the benefit of the doubt.

But you keep believing I make up this stuff and you keep writing the Cult newsletter. You will have a lot of time after the IB to improve your writing skills. Don't have to worry about the CFP, unless UGA/UT/LSU wants to outsource their newsletter. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Your observational skills are equally as strong as your ability to predict Auburn coaching searches. Equally as on-point too.

Fun to say, but he didn't do it at USC either, which is undeniably on a higher tier than Auburn.
