Why didn't ya'll do that last hire? What gives you any indication that a brand new AD with over-reaching self sabotaging boosters will lead to a better hire this go around?

Because last time there was a push for Steele by SOME of the money people. We also had a President who really didn't care about Athletics and an AD who was clueless. All that has changed.

Check engineering and the Technology professionals. Lawyers are a dime a dozen and doctors got screwed by liberals.

And honestly I think that is why the money people were pushing Steele, as a stop gap for a few years until the new President could take over and bring in a new AD.
It would have kept some stability in the program and honestly in hindsight would have been a better choice.
Most saw back then that Allen Greene was probably not going to be retained after his contract expired, and Gouge was checked out completely.

Oh really?? Let Cadillac beat W. KY and give Bama a run for their money and see how solidified Aub is.

Sure. That's why we fired Gus.

You're right. Absolutely did not hire Gus based on his reputation as the brainchild behind the 2010 season; which included the epic win over Bama.

Long term the hiring of Harsin will help overall for AU athletes. It United the University and forced much needed change within the system. Saturday Night showed that.

Try harder.
Offer has been made. He is mulling it over. As he does Auburn continues to interview and reach out. If he turns it down it will not be because of Auburn and the misinformation about the boosters.
No matter how you want to spin it... Ole Miss is NOT a lateral move when compared to Auburn.

It won’t change anything. Caddy is not going to be considered, most reasonable people know and understand that, and pretty sure Caddy knows that he is not ready to take over a P5 program.

Running it a few weeks, sure…..but for years, no.

Everyone loves Cadillac, and they know his is not really a SEC level HC right now. They all see what happened to Mike Shula and do not want that to happen for Caddy.

Honestly, I’d rather have Freeze

Those stupid 4th down analytics of Kiffin has cost him games, and Freeze at least cares about having a solid defense.

Did you get him to sign a Memorandum of Understanding? Did you know that Kiffin will only leave for ocean front property? These are all the dumbarse things we've seen on here before.

Unlikely he's mulling shite over. If he was going to do it then he'd just do it. If Aub is such a big step up and definitely not lateral by any metric then it would be a no-brainer right?

Right????

I seriously doubt any announcement will be made before season's end or that anyone on this board will have advance knowledge of it. The actual target may not even be known yet. It's agent season, and many are posturing to improve their wallets. Caddy has screwed nothing up.

I wouldn’t put it past Kiffin to charter those flights and leak it to drive up his contract

AU Coaches ( 3 former coaches) still have homes on Lake Martin. Ocean front property is like living in a big city due to privacy.

I prefer Freeze also. He would be the perfect longterm fit for AU.

You think y’all are going to pay Kiffin $15 million a year?

I sure hope not. I figured $10/mil a year for an offer.

Lane is moving to Texas but he'll be in Austin, not College Station. Sark will be cooked by the end of next year.

He isn't getting the HC job. Sorry.
