Don’t want to be a Debbie downer but Burrow has already accomplished the greatest season in NCAA history.. Sorry Fields.. I do think Fields will have a good little season though.

but honestly you're judging 1995 Kirby by 2020 standards. It would have taken one hell of a woke dude in 1995 to make a connection between a 'southern' hat and potential discomfort of his team mates.

1995 the notion of removing confederate symbols is DOA.

I knew in 95 that the confederate flag and anything associated with it was a symbol of racism to my black teammates and friends.

Interesting that you are judging every individual in a group based off of a stereotype about said group.

There's really no vindication to be had from Fromm's racist text controversy. Fields left because (and only because) he thought he was better than the starter.

At the end of the day that is the kid's vindication:

He was right.

Not for nothing: Gotta love Kirby's statement on the protests before this BS.

Not sure if my facts are right on this one, but I’ve heard fromm has played for more natties than fields and has a better playoff record.

If this were 2001 or 2014, fields never leaves. Kirby wasn’t ready to be the first victim of the new transfer era.

Many northern cities are more segregated than the south. The polite facade isn't fooling anybody, and in the south great football players are treated like kings.

I'm sure nobody here is naive enough to think racism drives football players north.

We'll see. If he plays at least 3 quarters instead of sitting almost half of a game he will. IMO. With what he has at his disposal, and with his talent it is gonna be a show.
