What a mess. Your star player got teammates killed while celebrating a national championship. Yikes

Street racing is one of the dumbest, most reckless things anyone can do. It's absolutely fricking retarded and I believe anyone caught doing it should lose their license permanently.

So the girl was driving a hundred and drunk? Wow, they all really fricked this up huh

That stretch of road is pretty much a straight shot to Barnett Shoals. So the part in the original AJC story about navigating a left hand turn was significantly embellished at best.

Carter is being charged with 2 misdemeanors, per Athens Clarke-County spokesperson.
As draft goes, it’ll hurt his image but he’s not going to face jail time.
As it goes for him personally, now we all know he at least contributed to the death of two of his friends by being fricking stupid and allowing others to be fricking stupid as well.

I’m betting Kirby handles this much better than Mr bury his head Oats.

They already won their championship. So ya, he's suspended.

Following your teammates to waffle house isn't a crime, is it? I don't think you're obligated to stay at the scene of a crash as a witness.
Forget crime. If he WAS at the scene of the crash, how about human decency to stay and check on your teammates???

The actual criminal charges aren’t the issue, for sure. What’s going to be hard is crafting a narrative to address how/why a team should invest a top 5 pick in someone who does something that stupid.

ChiGator can speculate all he wants. I drive on that stretch all the time and I'm more convinced that deer played a part in the accident.
The vehicle was doing 105 mph when it crashed. What part did deer play in that?

Yet another litmus test of how hungry the NFL is for physical talent relative to demonstrated immaturity. Doubt he goes 1 overall but wouldn’t be surprised if he stays top 10.

The girl wasn’t driving.
ETA - Read the report wrong. She was driving and racing and drunk.

But guys…he bought his teammate some lunches

Yes she was, in the vehicle that crashed. What’s being revealed is that there was a second vehicle that supposedly Carter was driving (hence facing misdemeanors charges for I assume racing and reckless driving).
Lack of evidence and witnesses I’m assuming is what’s preventing the charges from rising to the level of vehicular manslaughter, nevermind that defense can easily point to the other driver’s inebriated state as the actual cause of the accident.

Wait so that arguement doesn't work when it is someone on another team? I'm just using the Brandon Miller defense.
What gives?
