You forgot Colt McCoy getting hurt in 2009.
Bama backing into the BCS after getting dominated by Johnny Football in 2012.
And 4th and 25 getting them in in 2015.
In fact, with LSU's split title in 2003, Saban has never won a legit championship.
He's just a luckier Mike Shula.

No, unfortunately everyone is out for the money. You have to pay some of these newspaper archives.. Or you could possibly go to the Birmingham library & see if they have it on microfilm.

We're all just glad that now we have a playoff and things are finally settled on the field.
A playoff that is determined by a poll of even fewer individuals than the polls that previously awarded the AP and UPI titles.

No, he's a luckier Mike Shula with tremendous booster support on the recruiting trail.
His 2009 and 2015 titles are legit though. Even though Texas was the best team that year, you can't hold it against them that he got hurt during the game. Injuries happen.

I don't really give a shite either way about a championship over 50 years ago but that statement is false.

The 1964 title should be a traveling trophy, awarded after the game each year. The winner gets to claim the 1964 title that year.

Fake news. Bama won all the championships.
Except the Schula years. Even Bama fans know they sucked during those years

Yes, there are. Georgia counts 1942 when OSU won the AP. The only reason Georgia counts it is because they won the Rose Bowl..

No, I might be more open to that idea after Saban leaves

All championships before 1998 are bogus.
Posted on 5/4/17 at 10:04 am to kjanchild
Alabama and Arkansas were both legitimate champs in 1964.

there really wasn't a national championship before the BCS. All you can do is argue you were probably the best team that year. Claiming a national championship that does not exist is stupid.

It's a unique gump coping skill.

Was Alabama awarded the AP or UPI national championship that year?

Yea, unfortunately for them they lost and blew their chance.
Pretty dumb of you to think AU should be rewarded for being on probation.

There wasn't really one after it, either. The playoff is the first system we've had that didn't rely on the wire service polls.

You send boosters enough of the AP voters' houses with bribes and they vote for Bama. Same way Saban gets 5*s now.
