So Bama is going to lose both coordinators, a high number of great seniors and juniors...

and will still find themselves ranked in the top 5 to start the 2018 season.

So, is it more of the same from Bama in 2018 or do they actually feel the effects of these losses?

#1 just to be clear.

Bama has losses every year and makes it back to the top.

Alabama does this every year though.

Multiple assistants move on every year.

Had double digit draft picks last year. Still got back to the playoff.

Rinse and repeat.

Bama returns all but one OL who started all year along with 3 stud WR's. All of their TE's and all but 1 of their RB's. They return a good number of players in the front 7 on D who saw major playing time but do lose their top 6 DB's. I think NS has two assistants that he could promote which would help with continuity.

Bama will hire Freeze, and they’ll put up 50ppg with Tua and those goons at WR

We bring back a heckuva lot too, though. The injuries on Defense this season created a 3 deep in the front 7 filled with game experience for next season.

And the offense is just loaded.

How arrogant of them to think they deserve to be #1 with those kind of losses and coaching changes. It's almost like they are operating under the delusion that they have done this before....repeatedly...and almost without fail

And to the OP, UA goes into last game of regular season as a legit NC contender, same as 9 of last 10 yrs.

We just beat Georgia with a bunch of True Freshmen

This is nothing new to us. Happens every year.

As long as bammer is able to pay their players, the referees, and the playoff committe to let them in without winning the west, I think they will be okay

You better pray bammer brings back their most valueable commodity. The dumb luck that let them in the playoff without winning the western division

This might sound homerish, and it depends on how well we do with new hires, but there is certainly potential for 2018 team to be better than 2017.

Huge losses to be determined how impactful will be loss of essentially the entire secondary (however, Thompson replaced Hootie late in year after injury and did well), and losing Payne at NT. The rest of the defense should be excellent.

The offense should be better. Losing Ridley will hurt, but the top 3 receivers should be better overall. Particularly with Tua throwing the ball. 3 of our excellent receivers were true freshmen this year.

absolutely, plus Shavers will play. He has a chance to be a game changer in the RZ.

Saban always has a backup plan... a list of people standing in the wings. And he is not afraid of a controversial hire. He rehabilitated a number of coaches' careers. Perhaps McElwain will return?

Very few people even know who most team's AC are. I'll bet most people here cannot name the ACs at Wisconsin, Ohio State, even Georgia without peaking.

LSU fans are the most fascinated by the AC. For a decade as a group they are sure the AC is the key to success. Lately, it hasn't mattered, but that doesn't stop the delusions.
