2008 vs Ole Pee Water... :banghead:

LSU @ Auburn 1994. That to me is the greatest example of this. Whereas LSU/Iowa 2005 was an LSU comeback ruined by a fluke play, and whereas LSU/Kentucky 2002 was a Kentucky comeback ruined by a fluke play, LSU/Auburn 1994 was the systematic dismantling of an otherwise dominating game by LSU. 23-9 at the end of the 3rd quarter, and literally every play call (and almost every actual pass by Howard) helped Auburn win that game. I've never seen anything like it.

We snatched victory from defeat on that one.
There was nothing the O-line could have done to keep that kick from being blocked. We also have the best D-line in the SEC, so that 4th and 1 play should not have been a Tebow up the middle.
The fumbles were costly, but happened early in the game for the most part.

Arkansas 08
30-14 in the 3rd quarter, then doing everything in our power to ensure that we lose that game.

No excuse for losing that game.
They were just coming off a loss to State.

+1. I was there and it was the most unreal game I have ever seen. I think AU scored 31 points almost all in the second half and I think we only had 1 first down in the 2nd half.
I will also mention 1992 AU vs UGA. AU drove the length of the field to the 1 foot line. Snapped the ball with about 25 seconds left. There was a big pile up, the ball was kicked into the backfield and the UGA players would not get off the ground or out of the way so the officials could start play. One official signalled for a time out, Ray Goff ran on the field telling the UGA players to lay down. For 20 seconds, AU was unable to snap the ball to get the winning td and time ran out. The announcers and ABC studio guys were dumbfounded. They went to commercial twice, came back and the stadium was still full and the players still on the field waiting for resolution which never came.

LSU/Tennessee in 2005 right after Katrina, up 21-0 at half, 24-7 after 3 and we lose the game in overtime. We went conservative and lost. After that, Les never went conservative with a lead until 2008 against Arkansas

2000 Orange Bowl. Bama vs. Michigan
We lost to UM pretty much exactly the same way Florida lost to us in regular season that year. A missed XP in OT. As one of the commentators in that game said, "Fate has dealt them an ugly blow."

Friday and Sunday games against Auburn this past weekend. In football, it was the Peach Bowl a few years back against NC or NCS; can't remember for sure (too many to count)

Alabama-Tennessee 2003, 2004, 2006 seem to come to mind the most, although I just rather forget most of the Shula era. Too many heartaches to rehash.
Alabama-North Carolina, Super Regional in 2006. 'Bama had just hit a grand slam in the bottom of the inning to go ahead, only to see the Tar Heels hit a pair of HRs to put them ahead in the ninth. Another lost chance at Omaha.

Basketball- Arkansas vs. Oklahoma State. 2001 I believe. We were up by as much as 30. Lost the game. Anyone else remember this?
Football- 2003 vs. Florida. Down 33-7 in the 4th quarter, and we still somehow snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Matt Jones was making play after play in the 4th. 33-28 with about 4 minutes to go, 3rd down for the Gators. Chris Leak throws an incomplete pass, but Tony Bua spears him in the head. Game over

It's my opinion that there isn't a better example of "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" than Clint Stoerner fumbling against UT.
Two 9-0 (or was it 8-0) teams......the winner being the clear favorite to march on to to the National Championship.
All Clint had to do was run out the clock.

1997 iron bowl I remember because if Scissom doesn't fumble the damn ball, LSU goes to the SECCG that year instead of Auburn. I still wonder why Bama threw a pass with 45 seconds left.
1998 bama game. I had never seen a TD pass that bounced off a defenders helmet into a streaking WR for a Td before, but I got to see it TWICE in the second half in that game. I still wonder why Robert Davis never turned around to look for the ball.
