Didn't "drop" the foul ball. It fell between three fielders, one of which (Shaddy) damned sure had no business being anywhere near the ball and right fielder Eric Cole pulling up because of said Shaddy being where he had no business being.
But Shaddy had pulled a bonehead play earlier in the game, and being from Fayetteville he was hell bent on being the hometown hero and catch the last out. Instead, he's part of a meme that will live in infamy.
