For perspective, Mizzou has had 18 home night games.
As we’ve seen with their 2 away loses this year, night games in the SEC are much more challenging.
This conference has catered to LSU, they are an SEC creation.

Georgia hasn’t had a home night game all year. For lsu, night games are their gimmick. And they still average 3-4 losses every year.

Is there something wrong with Sanford stadium that makes them not want to have night games?

Georgia rarely plays west of the Mississippi. Crazy how that has happened over the years.

When I was in school and our schedule came out, every home game was listed as a 7pm start. That is how LSU would start every home game if it weren’t for television. Every game would be a night game.
The OP has clearly never been to an LSU night game. It’s a unique, special atmosphere that will change the way you see LSU fans and LSU football. There’s a reason the league and ESPN protects it; it’s just magical. Night games are just as important to us as the 3rd Saturday in October is to Bama and Tennessee or having the Red River Rivalry in Fair Park in Dallas is to TX/OU or the cocktail party in Jacksonville is to Florida and Georgia. It’s our tradition that goes back to the 1930s.
Here’s a great video on the history of LSU night games.
Seem to remember Burrow and squad beating your arse during the day the last time you guys came to Tiger Stadium. You guys even tried to “take over the stadium.” LMAO
Here’s some highlights so we can reminisce.

Is playing the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville an SEC creation? How about scheduling the Alabama-Tennessee game for the Third Saturday in October every year? While LSU still plays plenty of day games, those 2 SEC traditions never change. And FWIW, the transition of LSU playing night games began before the Southeastern Conference even existed.

No it isn't.

No doubt it’s an epic atmosphere but we are in 2026. Kroger field last night was electric. Every SEC stadium has juiced fans and light shows. On TV they all capture the viewer when it’s a game.

Know how TV works? Viewership. LSU has more of it than you, that’s why.

People like watching the Lane Train derail in primetime.
It's a new tradition.
