At some point, though, the SEC will have to shite or get off the pot in regards to the Fed case finding. The case was filed regarding the rostering of two football players, not basketball players. The SEC has not made a single public statement regarding any basketball players. While the official filing is about enforcement of its bylaws, it’s obvious it was in reaction to the LA district court ruling.

The SEC’s case has to overcome a mountain of hurdles: standing, harm, venue, Anti-Injunction claims, dubious 1st Amendment claims, sports league jurisprudence.

I think part of the reason the league wants it open is because the state of Louisiana is foaming at the mouth to get Sankey back in court on contempt charges. If there’s no Federal case, there’s nothing standing in the way of that.

Second Red Rock—go on your third or fourth day so you can really feel the difference between how peaceful it is there vs the The Strip.

Most bars these days have high quality mocktails. Check them out.

Absinthe is the best show on The Strip by far. It’s VERY raunchy: be warned.

The Cirque du Soleil shows are top notch. O at Bellagio tends to be the biggest crowd pleaser but we enjoyed Ka at MGM and the Michael Jackson Cirque at Mandalay Bay.

Not sure which resort you’re staying at but most of the high quality resorts have amazing pool areas. Spend some downtime there. The spas are pretty expensive but very nice if you have the budget.

The. Food. Definitely grab some reservations at a good steakhouse, Asian, or Italian place. They’re pricey but definitely part of the experience. The Golden Steer is a Vegas institution.

The Venetian and Caesar’s both have really great shopping.

That defense is going to cost them a trip to the SECCG. Against both ranked opponents, their defense blew 2nd half leads of 17 and 14. They were two bad passes away from giving up the lead.

Rule change needs to be made. That’s simulating the snap via motion in an attempt to draw the defense off sides. I’m fine with drawing them off with voice inflection, but you get one clap. More than that without a snap should be a penalty.

Did all y’all forget that the SEC has a judgment against it in both a district and now an appellate court? League lawyers are going to have a hard time explaining to any court why they ignored a direct court order to roster these players and not punish LSU for doing it. (Threat of fines and expulsion is straight up coercion by the league to force LSU to ignore a court order from its own district court.)

They’re also going to have to explain why they’re discriminating against these two specific players and not others who were granted TROs by other state district courts.

They’re also going to have to explain why they attempted to get the judgment overturned in a Federal court in a separate circuit instead of appealing the LA court ruling immediately.

Wright and Harris are going to get tens of millions from the SEC. Each.

I went in 2019. It’s a very corporate/flashy/“look how cool we are” atmosphere to the point that they can’t really figure out what they want it to be. It wasn’t that way in the early 90s when I went to games while my sister (no pics) was in school there.
