According to ChatGPT:
Easiest SOS:
Missouri ? Tennessee ? Georgia ? South Carolina ? Ole Miss ? Auburn ? Alabama ? Kentucky ? Texas ? LSU ? Texas A&M ? Florida ? Oklahoma ? Arkansas ? Mississippi State ? Vanderbilt (Most Difficult)
SI and ESPN sucks arse. Texas has to play tOSU and Georgia.

Strength Of Schedule Rankings
LOL, that site literally just calculated the winning percentage of each team's opponents from last season and sorted the list from lowest to highest. That is kindergarten-level analysis.
Florida International was ranked #24 in that list. You tell me if you think this is the 24th toughest schedule in the country.
FIU 2025
Delaware and Missouri State are in year one as members of the FBS. So, in effect, FIU has three FCS teams on their schedule.

Now do the SoS average for the past 10 seasons.

Only 29th! I will love the excuses from Napier fans when we are an 8-4 or worse. We will never win the SEC with him as HC.

Maybe the dumbest rankings I have ever seen.
No one knows how good )or bad) teams will be this year, therefore no "strength of schedule" can be calculated with any reliability.

I dont see why all the whining, theres only 2 good SEC teams, Bama and Georgia
But we did play OU, Michigan on the road and Georgia twice, and a raked Vandy at home that beat some realy good SEC team last year bug i cant remember who it was.

Texas gets all grief but Mizzou’s schedule is also a joke
Mizzou’s schedule has been that way for the last 3 years. It’s not talent, it’s the lack of talent from the teams they have on their schedule that puts them in the 9-10 win category the last 3 seasons.

When you have to stay in a hotel versus your own dorm/home and away from all of the normal amenities that come with having your game at home…
It’s an away game. The prep, the time to travel, even the meals and schedules are totally different.
From a fan standpoint, it’s 50-50 split in the stadium. That’s not a home game.

That's a really stupid way to determine strength of schedule.
1. It assumes the teams record last year is a great indicator of how good they'll be the next season. That might work in the NFL where rosters can stay the same. Stupid for college.
2. You can load up on non P5 teams that posted good records last season that would make your schedule look great. Example in a four game sample:
Alabama plays W. Kentucky and App State and they have a combined 18-8 record from last year. They also play two mediocre P5 schools that had 13-13 combined records from last year.
Auburn plays the same but their non P5s have the 13-13 record and their P5's have an 18-8 record. This would say the SOS for each team is the same, but any one with a clue could plainly see Auburn had the more difficult four game schedule.
Another example: If you have Indiana on your schedule you get a better oppnonent record added to it than if you have Alabama. Who is the tougher opponent?

When a team is so much better than their opponents, wouldn’t they be considered having a weak SOS? If Vanderbilt played the same schedule as Texas this year, wouldn’t they be considered to have a “tough” schedule?

The transfer portal works and pure win percentage make this a wasted exercise. An 11-2 liberty weighs the schedule vs a 5-7 power tan.
Also isn’t the argument for why Mizzou and Indiana has 10+ wins was because they are bad tasks with easy schedules? This formula looks only at W-L.
Having cake and eating it.

List is a joke. Look at OSU and their schedule then look again.
Posted on 8/14/25 at 7:45 am to southernboisb
I have a hard time believing that 28 teams have a harder schedule than UF.
Posted on 8/14/25 at 7:50 am to southernboisb
I don’t see how you can have this ranking before the season starts - you have no idea who is good yet.
