Why? They can honor them if they want. That band had some huge hits back in the 70's.
Oh wait...That was BTO.
Never mind.

The band can't play Rammer Jammer before the game. Only after the game, when we win of course.

Are you really serious with this original post?

Is Bama really banned from doing that?
Actually no, but the NCAA put immense pressure on UA to ban the cheer because we used "Hell" TWICE in our chant..... (ermahgerd the children!!!)
Anyways, because our president at the time was a tool, the MDB was banned from playing it for a couple of seasons in the 90s and after a student survey (95%+ wanted it back), the Rammer Jammer was restored.

Kinda a troll. Had a convo with an Aggie about how it started. Told him about rammer jammer. Made me remember the pre-game ban.
Just shedding some light on arbitrary sec rules.

Neither the SEC nor the NCAA have banned us from doing RJ before the game.

The only thing that should be banned is the OP who came up with this .

Jars Full.
They need to push to intensify chants and make them more vicious. Stop the pussification of football.

It should be equal.
Either allow Bama to play Rammer Jammer as it was intended or stop Tamu's.

Should the SEC ban ATM's "BTHO" pregame slogan???
Why?

I think Rammer Jammer is pretty cool, but it is sort of stupid to hear it after a close victory.
It's still funny to watch the video of the 12-10 win over Tennessee in 2009 when it took 2 blocked kicks to beat a bad UT team and the crowd's chanting "we just beat the hell outta you!"

To the OP.....
What you are referring to in Rammer Jammer that got banned because of taunting was because those words were directed at the opponents. "We're going to beat the hell outta you" is a direct statement to the oppponents and their fans.
BTHO, beat the hell outta (insert team/school here) is directed at our own team to pump them up and tell them to beat the hell outta whoever they are playing.
One of these is not like the other.

op, SEC is not the old Soviet Union. Say what you want as long as it isn't obscenity around women and children.
